Didn't work for me but looked great.
It arrived with a crooked pin on the harness and after fixing that and installing it still had a code 16 bad high res signal and had to remove it, I wish I tested it before installing by hand spinning it plugged in. The harness wires appeared to be a smaller gauge wire. It looked good but wasn't, the old one still worked so I reused it. Credit was issued 1 day after returned.

Works great and well built.
I got this to replace the original opti-spark on a 1992 Corvette at 60,000 miles. The original one had a noisy bearing but was still working. I have heard many scary stories about aftermarket opti-spark units not working at all but originals are hard to find and not cheap. I decided to try my luck with this one. It works great, engine runs very smooth. I disassembled it completely and sealed all the interfaces with Three Bond 1184 and put locktite on all the screws. 1184 is a soft curing sealant resistant to gas/oil, similar to Yamabond 4. There are gaskets under the cap and the housing to the aluminum but there are wide openings around where the electrical plug goes into the unit. Since that is near the top once installed any moisture could run right into the interior of the unit. I wanted it completely sealed to prevent water intrusion. It does have the three vents at the bottom like the stock one did to vent ozone. I did not do any vent mod like the later versions of the opti-spark have since the original lasted 60,000 miles un-vented. I have a few hundred miles on it and its working great. Seal it up before you install it.Update: 3,000 miles on it now and no problems.

I'm happy so far!
Honestly this is in my opinion the most economical option for a replacement Opti!GM quit making new optisparks so what to do when the time comes? I acquired a '94 Firehawk that had not run in ten years because the Opti died when the water pump leaked. I did quite a bit of research and settled in on the Cardone new opti. Biased primarily because GM is offering only "rebuilt" now. Which I suspect translates to the best cores are remanufactured as AC Delco I'm personally not 100% convinced that these get NEW Mitsubishi sensors. So I wasn't comfortable paying top dollar for a very limited warranty.I received the Cardone unit quickly and well packaged the Cardone cap is well sealed to the body. But I really wanted to address the other issue I see optisparks and that is the ozone corrosion issue and that means adding a vent system. I used a MSD cap and rotor. On this item. Once I had the cap and rotor off I checked the pick up wheel and found just a slight bit of run out, maybe a few thousands, which I gently brought back into shape. The MSD parts fit perfectly on the Cardone and install was uneventful. The parts were buttoned up with new seals on the timing cover and the LT1 took her first breath in 10yrs after a few cranks to get fuel up. After that she fires with just a touch of the key. Very pleased. Of course time will tell. But I have no reason to not believe this will be a good unit for a long time. I've long suspected people who are happy don't complain on message boards. Just the ones who aren't. Keep that in mind as you research your best option for your engine.

Works, but Square Notch will need to be shaved
It works fine, but You have to modify by shave the square alignment notch with a dremel tool. The square notch is above the spindle. This step must be done in order to seat the OptiSpark properly against the engine on a LT1 - C4 Corvette engine.
