Cleared all the suspension fault codes
The original compressor on my 2005 LR3 was a Hitachi and it lasted for 15 years. When it failed I replaced it with an aftermarket Chinese compressor which threw error codes pretty much the whole time I had it. Installed this Hitachi compressor and the error codes immediately went away. Hoping to get as many years out of this one as the original.

Do not buy for an LR3
Bought this to replace my original Land Rover LR3 Hitachi unit with a cracked drier and wasted $$$ and days pulling my hair out to only discover these do not work. Either these are defective out of the box or somehow not compatible with the LR3. After programming this to the vehicle, and test driving countless miles, I found that the exhaust valve ends up decompressing all the air the compressor built up before and after running. This causes the front end to raise very slowly or not raise at all since air is not building in the reservoir tank. Wiring all appears the same and looks exactly like the original unit. I even tried two different new units, but both had the same issue. I even started replacing other ESA components believing there was a second issue. I ended up replacing the drier on my original Land Rover part which solved my problem and returning this.

buy this compressor
I tried to cheap out and buy a Hitachi clone. It ran but didnt work. Still had errors and suspension didnt work right. I bought this genuine Hitachi and solved all issues. Errors gone and suspension raises quickly like it should.

OEM for my Land Rover!
This is a direct fit OEM replacement for my LR4 and it did not need a reflash to work properly! I would highly recommend you go this way over the AMK compressor conversion!

Plastic
Bought used one but come with tube connector that is plastic. I bought the same hitachi original part 5 years ago and it was metal same as the original part that the car came with. Also missing rubber o-ring inside. Maybe the brand new one is perfect was planning to buy it but have not gotten a refund for 4 weeks now. Called and chat with Amazon customer service but nothing so far.
