I wouldn’t consider my self blue collar but this was a pretty reasonable item that assemble. The finished project is a nice piece. My son loves his new bed and desk. He loves me.

Bed arrived way before it was suppose to sp shipling was very fast. Pieces went right together but still took long to put together. But my biggest problem was we had multiple pieces that were dinged up when it arrived (see pictures) including a chunk out of the desk before it was stained. We weren't too impressed with the board under the bed/at the top of the desk that wasn't completely stained. Thats understandable if you weren't going to under the bed but the desk is there so you will be working there as well, so you would think it would be expected to look good too.

We’ve had this bed in use for about six months for my son. Assembly wasn’t too bad. However, within two months the steps on the ladder started to crack. Three months in and the bottom step completely broke while he was climbing up to go to sleep. It resulted in cuts on his ankle. Now, at six months the safety rail has completely cracked and basically folded over to the outside. This was the worst waste of money. Also, for safety reasons alone this is the worst option to get for your child. Junk and a death-wish for a child.
