Neko Flies All New by The Maker of Its The Neko Birbug Cat Toy for Upwardly Mobile Cats!

Our 3 young cats have chosen the Neko bugs as their very favorite toys. We've had several different kinds, and they seem to respond to all of them about the same. They have, after a period of several months, gradually torn off the wings and unraveled the chenille, but they still play with them even after they have torn them up. We discovered by accident that leaving this toy in our cat toy box detached from the pole, that the cats will play with this by themselves, by dragging it around, batting the bug end, and chasing the string end. One of our cats even fetches this toy, bringing it to us in his mouth and dropping it at our feet when he wants to play. These are a little expensive as cat toys go, but well worth it for the stimulation and enrichment it gives the cats, and the laughs it gives the family.I have not received this product free or at a discount for my review; we just love it!

My cat really loves this toy and yes, it sort of floats like in fly fishing. Truly? These flies are made of tiny parts that are dangerous if swallowed. It's absolutely necessary to keep an eye on your cat and ensure pieces don't break off in your cat's mouth. I strongly encourage the maker to use harmless, more pet appropriate parts in making these flies.

Update:To the Neko Flies manufacturers: Please design a better clasp. Both of these were gifts and when one of them was opened, the clasp wouldn't open in order to put in on the wand. Thankfully Amazon has a great return policy for their customers, and I was able to return it, no problem. Hoping the replacement one will work, as otherwise, this is a really great toy. The cats love this one, thus the reason I'm still leaving this at 5 stars.I have an older cat that doesn't really care so much about wand toys any more. This attachment rekindled his desire to play with them..It's seriously got him hopping up, not like he used to, but definitely got him moving. I am purchasing more for family member's cats. :)

so I bought this to use with my a-door-able cat toy. Its a bit short as it is so i reused the stretchy cord from the old one to make it longer and bouncier, as the cord on this is not strechy). They love it so much! They love everything about it, for them it is the perfect toy. Whenever I hang it up in the door they will play with it for hours! Quality is amazing. Its held up extremely well over the last month. No loose feathers or dislodged wings. Will buy again if they ever manage to damage it.

Finally, something my fussy cat plays with! Wand toys I've purchased in past were destroyed within 2 days, especially the ones with feathers. This holds up well even though it has feathers (she love feathers). Once she 'captures' it and starts tearing into it something in the underlying frame tweeks her and she lets go before ripping it apart. This seems to only make her want it more and she's ready to start the chase all over again! Same good results with Neko Kittenator Small Mouse, Kragonfly. Love the quality of all the Neko products I've purchased.

Both my adult cats LOVE playing with this wand toy. Unfortunately, they are a little too rough with the bug once they've caught it in their mouth. Eventually the little wings, feathers and rubber legs disappear. By the 20th play session all that's left is the bugs body. I find little pieces on the carpet but I wonder how much they might be ingesting. My cats play rough with all their wand toys so I'm not saying there is quality issue here. Will probably continue to buy this product.

I bought this because I had previously ordered a different one that my cats love, and my cats love flying insects and feathers so I thought this was perfect. They don't like it, it's pretty big and kinda heavy, like a small bird, which makes it awkward to play with and the wings are pretty stiff. It's just very awkward to try to play with but it is constructed well.

My Siamese is young and always plays. The other cats stay away because he is so aggressive. Not with this toy! They all come out and go crazy! What fun. Must be careful though. Each attachment has steel bar running through it. Don't let them catch and chew! Some let go right away. The ones that start to chew, I take away and monitor. Everyday or night I bring it out, they play hard. Great exercise.
