Read the reviews and felt I had to try this after looking locally. The units around this CC range are all at least double the cost at Home Depot - CRAZY! This has been really, really good for my needs and totally impressive. For the life of me I can't figure out why the ones I saw locally are so expensive.Over the past week I have used this to trim up some of my low palm tree - worked perfect. Stayed well oiled and sliced right though them, not a problem at all. The chainsaw was nice and quiet and light enough to not cause any fatigue. The very low vibration helped too.I want to point out that I did not have to tune it or swap any parts. The chain and pull cord are both working very well for me - maybe the other folks got bad ones or were a little rough on theirs - not problem here! Also, as far as the oil ratio goes just follow the manual.You won't be disappointed with this. It's clearly well made and metal in all the right spots. It has plenty of power and I the price is outstanding!

Do NOT waste your money on any Salem master chainsaw. Let’s start off with the cheap bar that sounds like your chopping into rocks. Power? Not here, this thing would struggle to cut a stick! Oh and don’t worry if you need a fire just run it for a little bit and the clutch will get so hot it will melt the plastics. Leaks bar oil like it’s supposed to. I am two days out of my return and stuck with this trash. Customer service hahaha what a joke. This thing is a fire hazard and should not be sold to anyone!!!!! Buy something that has a brand name and don’t be stupid like me !

Absolutely the worst chainsaw. I've never written a review and i just don't want anyone buying this. First it worked great for 20 mins. Then I turned it off cleared debris and tried to fire it back up. Nothing. I troubleshooted and found that the fuel line backed off the carb....ok that's not dangerous because it dumped 1/4 tank of fuel on it. I took the cover apart and put the line back on. Tried to fire it up.....nothing. after the 3rd attempt the cord broke. Well thats it, its dead. So for 20 mins of life, its not worth the 150.00

I had a little bit of an issue when i tried to start it..would not fire up.on closer examination of the spark plug boot the contact wire had come off.I reconnected the wire, put everything back together gave the starter a couple of pulls and it fired right up.I am ready to try it out as soon as the weather clears .will give you an update when this happens.

This item broke after only approximately 1 hour of use. The pull cord broke about 2 weeks ago, then I put it in the shop for repairs. The pull cord broke on them again after I had attempted to respool it. They could not find parts and were unable to fix it. The owners manual and labels on the saw were contradictory, at best. Instructions and labels listed 3 different fuel mixes; 25:1,40:1, and 50:1 were listed or labeled. I see were the return date closed 7JUN. THIS IS WRONG! You should take this piece of crap back.

Warning: the included fuel mixer leaked everywhere. lots of assembly required. multiple labels on saw call for both 25:1 and 40:1 mixture. leaked oil everywhere prior to first start. Chain does not stay tightened. it. Won’t. Start. Period. Pull cord broke before starting even once. DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK.

Bought this chainsaw for father back in May. Used it once on a tree in the back. Worked fine. Then just the other day, had a big storm that knocked out the tree. Worked for a few hours then died. Missed out on the return date and now stuck with a trash broken chainsaw. Get something else better.

This is a great saw! Well built, great price point, showed my friend and he bought one. If you are looking for a great saw at a great price then this is the saw for you!
