Product description NEW Combo BLUWAVS CD and FLAC FILE .com On their fourth full-length release, San Diego's Buck-O-Nine continue to trace the ska-punk revolution from its '70s roots to its '90s incarnation. With a robust horn section bopping alongside their breakneck reggae rhythms, Buck-O-Nine's lead singer Jon Pebsworth struts his stuff in a voice that would make Joe Jackson proud. While the punk spirit on this CD is often eclipsed by the band's feel good melodies, Libido is still an extra-energetic foray into modern ska. Jonas Kleiner's guitar playing is both upbeat and tasteful on fun tunes such as "On a Sunny Day." With some tranquil moments and world music creeping into their overall sound, Buck-O-Nine show they aren't afraid to experiment with the ska-punk formula. --Mitch Meyers

Buck o nines best to date.
Libido and songs in the key of bree are the only real albums by this band that matter to me, though this cd seems to have taken a more poppy approach to some of the songs such as swimming in sand and on a sunny day i feel these are the stand out tracks because of this it's just happy beach ska. There is only one throw away track on libido and thats the last one as it's just no where near as interesting as the previous tracks in the offering and by that time you've heard all the good points of libido anyway, buck o nine appear to be one of the good ska bands around but some of the rock they play just seems a bit effortless and needs that bit more flare but i would seriously recommened Libido even over songs in the key of Bree.

uniquness in the midst of adversity
I am extemely disaapointed in the negative reviews of this cd. This cd is an aweosme Buck09 cd and should be collected by all buck09 and ska fans alike. Libido brings a more melodic mellowier and much more mature sound to Buck09...many of the tunes show that Buck09 has finally reached a point in there careers where they no longer need to prove anything to anyone, there place in history is set. So Libido brings a more relaxed mood to your speakers...with a reggae/rock/ska mix BuckO9 shows there expeirence and eclectic range of music. Libido in my eyes will always be looked at a nice "icing on the cake" to a group of awesome guys and wonderful musicians who have reached the top and are enjoying the view.

Another Good Album
Buck-O-Nine have been one of my favorite bands for a long time, ever since my brother came home with one from a trip of their early CDs back when he was in eighth grade (he's now a senior in high school). I loved this combo from the start, ska, comedy, and rock, although they used to have a little more punk which I wish was more common here. This CD has some of the best drums, they keep perfect beat with the horns and the sneering vocals. This CD is really produced, which is usually bad but on here makes it sound a lot better. Oh well. This is in my player a lot, I recommend it.The best songs are Who Are They?, Swimming In Sand, Tell It Like It Was, and All Along. I personally think them, along with Mustard Plug and Aquabats are the best ska bands.

Great fun!!
This is really cool and enjoyable ska punk album. This album has a real feel good feeling to it and it will bring out the best in anyone. My personal favorite tracks are 'Headlines', 'Who are they?' and 'Awkward Girl', but if the ska punk thing is your scene then I can guarantee you will love this album. Not everyone will like this album, some may feel it is too slick or poppy and not punky enough but if you are after a good fun, unpretentious album then you can do a lot worse than this.

Another Ska band trys to make the change over to Rock.
$1.09 puts out a good effort, yet falls short on their latest album. The band has completly gone from a good ska band to a rock band with horns. However the influence of ska has not completly left these Sandiego boys, songs auch as WHO ARE THEY?, FALLING BACK TO SLEEP, ALL ALONG, and HERE WE GO AGAIN are deffinetly ska songs. Yet it is sad to me that another ska band has sold out by trying to make the air waves, but unfortunetly for Buck O'Nine they just didn't do it. Advice for the guys: Ya got horns, so use em!

If I can save one person from buying this cd...
You know, I don't think I've ever had as much disappointment after buying and listening to this cd EVER! This CD lacks everything that is good about Buck O Nine. It's boring, it has very few good melodies, it makes me want to jab my eye out with a pencil, blah blah blah. Spend your good money on a good cd. Personal recommendation: Keasbey Nights by Catch 22.

Well worth the cash.
This CD has its up and its downs but overall youll like it. The tracks are filled with up beat horns and guitar riffs. the best song on the album is defenitly "Here We Go Again". But thats just my opinon. Buck-o-Nine is a change, if your looking for something that has an edge and you got the cash then go for it.
