An oddly beautiful train wreck?
This was most definitely one of the weirdest books I've ever read in my life. Despite the story line being all over the place, the characters having no real depth to them, and me going, "What the feck?!" more times than I can count, I have to admit that I couldn't put the book down. It really was like not being able to tear your eyes away from an oddly beautiful train wreck. I kind of feel weird after reading it, like maybe I should shower or something. But hey, it kept my attention (barely) long enough for me to finish it, so, 5 stars it is.

Please hire a new proofreader.
I enjoyed the story but there were a lot of errors that reduced my reading enjoyment. If not for that, I would have given this book four stars. The concept of us causing our own demise by chasing immortality has a certain irony to it that I particularly liked.

A very unique take on the apocalypse
Matthew William's take on the apocalypse is unlike any other post-apocalyptic story you'll read. I don't want to say too much for fear of giving away important plot points, but this is definitely a story well worth picking up. If you're up to your gills in zombie stories, and you've just about had it with nuclear fallout, The Enoch Pill is the post apocalyptic story for you!

Thumbs up
This is a great book. I have read the book and listened to the audio version. Matthew William is an excellent author and kept me on my toes with this read.

Interesting but huge plot holes
This is the second young adult novel that I had inadvertently read (while I read some reviews, I do not put too much weight into them). How can somebody make so many bad decisions and still be alive? Are teenagers really this delusional? Also, I have questions about how this even happened. No clinical trials? No large scale testing? No, something had to happen to kill everybody off. They somehow rolled it out to EVERYBODY at the exact same time - from remote Amazon tribes to urban cities? Now, some spoilers. Please stop reading if you still plan on reading this. Why lie to the kids? Why not teach them the truth? Are there no gay people in this world? Did nobody else in all the world survive? With a world that can create a mental controller for birds, they cannot artificially create kids not tied to this pill? Hell, we have that technology NOW. And how does an EMP take out a bird? The people on the wall understand this, but forget it towards the end of the book when everybody else seems to disappear. The vehicle to create this world is just too ridiculous. The constant poor decisions make it all just an eye-rolling romp. The possibilities and potential here are very interesting, but just don't ever materialize. I'm listening to the followup, but am not holding my expectations too high.

Mezmorizing, unique, can't get enough!!
These two books are captivating and pull you completely into the world of the story. My only complaint is that there isn't more! I can't wait for the next book(s) to come out. This has been my favorite series for the last 3 years or so.

The Enoch Pill adventure
I have to admit this was my first time reading a Sci Fi story. It's not my usual choice of genre. The Enoch Pill, however, won me over. It is a well written Sci Fi adventure that I found enjoyable. It does have moments of some violence by some characters, which is expected, but goes no further than a PG13 rating. I found the author's word pictures beautiful as they captured my imagination while I travelled along this quest with the heroine Kizzy.
