Well made and pours great
I'm very happy I found a kettle of this type that has a whistler. The last kettle I had looked almost identical but no whistler. I kept forgetting that I put on the heat which obviously has the potential to be dangerous. The whistle is not super loud but its more than loud enough to remind me that the water is boiling. As for the build quality, its outstanding. Its very appealing to the eye and I don't mind leaving it sitting on my stove at all times. The price is higher than others but its well worth it. Highly recommended!

An attractive whistling kettle at a fair price.
Having decided to go all in on Chemex coffee, I needed a pour over kettle. Appearance wise, this appears to be nearly identical to the Hario. I choose this one over the same size Hario for two reasons: this one whistles and I was put off by recent quality complaints on the Harios.I like the quality of this kettle just fine. The fit and finish is good with no visible issues. The spout is neatly attached. The kettle whistles as advertised, and seems well priced. While the stated capacity is 1.2 liters, having done some experiments, I found that the maximum fill without boil-over to 32oz or 1 liter. This is consistent with what reviews of the 1.2L Harios also found. The handle remains cool enough to touch when the kettle starts whistling.I'm very satisfied with this kettle. It's attractive and does exactly what it is supposed to do for a fair price.

1st one didn't whistle, 2nd one rusted
Excitedly bought this because it was the only one of its type I could find that whistles. However, due to a loose-fitting top and misaligned holes on the whistle, the whistle is barely audible, even when standing next to the stove...I knew the water was boiling when it started shooting out of the spout. Very disappointing--it's headed back. Five stars for concept, zero stars for execution.Update #1: returned the first one (thanks, Amazon Prime) and ordered another--that whistles! Not super loud, but loud enough. The quality, appearance and performance are all very good.Update #2: The second one began to show lots of small rust spots at the interior after three uses. I sent a photo to the company, who had contacted me via email to find out how I liked their product. They told me that they'd never seen this problem before and that they'd investigate the issue, but that I was welcome to return the product---to Amazon! Way to stand behind your product! In the meantime, I've received another email from the company asking how I like their product and requesting that I not give them a bad review until I've contacted them. I've contacted them, and their customer service is on par with their quality control. One star :(

I thought I knew GOOD COFFEE Until Now!
I always thought that my coffee of choice from the local grocer was very good. So my wife and I were not prepared for the pour over experience. This kettle heats up a full of liter of water while I warm up my Melita pot with hot water. Now for the good part. I have seen this same pot sold in local stores for double and triple the cost here. Yes, it is a bit dear. But once you go "pour over," you will be unsatisfied with anything else. This is not a flimsy kettle. It has enough heft that I expect it to last for a long time. I especially like that the handle sticks out a bit so that it does not get hot while heating the water. The pour is precise as to where it goes and how much I pour. When empty, I leave it on the stove to dry with the top off. So I expect to see no rust.Sure we found dark roasted Colombian Cacua beans at a local roaster. But that is only part of the story. The BRU allows me to pre-wet the grounds precisely. Once the bloom and out-gassing is done (30-40 seconds), I can keep a slow but steady flow over the grounds to insure proper agitation to extract all that available goodness. The following was my selection of "equipage" to put this all together . . .* the BRU Pour Over Coffee Kettle of course* Peugeot 22778 Salvador Coffee Mill - http://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dkitchen&field-keywords=Peugeot+22778+Salvador+Coffee+Mill* Melitta Coffee Maker, Porcelain 6 Cup Pour- Over Brewer - http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QY9YDY?keywords=melitta%20pour%20over%20coffee%20maker&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&qid=1457612807&ref_=sr_rp_1&sr=sr-1

Everything is great, very nice kettle--except the deal breaker for me ...
Everything is great, very nice kettle--except the deal breaker for me makes this type of kettle, not the kettle itself, not useable. I probably should have researched more. I am used to a kettle with a signal whistle. This one does not have one and end up with boiling water overflow onto the stove or floor, almost every time--too hard to sit and wait for it to boil.

so it does me no good to have a whistling kettle
The reason I chose this kettle was because it had a whistle. The whistle on this kettle is so faint it cannot be heard in any other room, so it does me no good to have a whistling kettle. I like everything else about the kettle, however a whistle is important to me so I was extremely disappointed in this kettle.

Best kettle I've ever used
I have been looking for a kettle for awhile now when I came across this one and let me tell you, this is the perfect kettle! I purchased this kettle to heat water for my Chemex coffee pot. The spout is the best part because it doesn't drip or leak like other kettles do. It heats up the right amount of water for brewing and it stays hot for a really long time from the stainless steel. The quality of the kettle is excellent. Great craftsmanship. I chose this kettle over similar ones because it's made from a United States company. I rather spend a few extra dollars on this kettle knowing it's made in the USA and that the company stands 100% behind its product. What I found impressive was the company actually reached out to me via email to see how I liked their product. They want to make sure their customers are happy with their purchase. I can't say enough great things about this kettle and the company who makes it.P.S. This is not a fake review. I actually purchased this kettle and have been using it. I love it! It was definitely worth the money.
