As someone who is well into their senior years, I have been a voracious and curious reader for more than 7 decades. I have loved reading all kinds of books on a wide and varied range of topics. One of my favorite kinds of books are science and facts books. This is why while browsing on Amazon when I saw this huge 632-page hardcover book (The book of strange but true science) I decided to purchase it. Even though I had read many of these same facts and truths in other books in the past; nevertheless, I enjoyed reading this interesting and informative book. This book is organized into 13 very fascinating chapters covering “science fiction to science fact, scientists acting strangely, only in the military, spaced out, high strangeness: UFOS, game changers, humans: warts and all, fringe and wild speculations, animal oddities, discoveries and inventions, medical science, food, and miscellaneous curios.” If you enjoy reading unusual science facts, you may want to check out this book. The book is very interesting and seems like something you could flip through for hours. However, book came with damage to spine.

I got this as part of a christmas gift for my father. He's hard to buy for so thought it was going to be more of a 'coffee table' book but he loved it so much, he finished reading it cover to cover within a month. I'm always weary of buy a 'new' book online with the possibility of getting a used book but this one definitely had the fresh book crack in the binding when he opened it. =)

This is perfect to take to work and glance at when you have a job that might not allow you to sit for long periods of time. Stories are little bitty tidbits of knowledge.

I bought this book for my husband, who is into all things science! He has only flicked through it so far, but there seems to be lots of interested facts and details about many different things and he's looking forward to reading it. There are a few other books in this series, that I will also be looking to buy. Arrived on time and well packaged. Nicely presented, thick book with tons of reading material.
