Truly Metallic Copper !!!!
Hello there....I have two 4 1/2 feet long Soldier Copper Statues at home. During the course of time, it started to wear out its original color texture. I tried all sort of things at home, to clean it up and bring it back to its original glory, however I was not successful. I started checking out for other options... I tried the combination of Vinegar and lime, vinegar and baking soda... nothing worked... instead it turned bad to worst. I checked out a wide range of spray paints related to copper paints on Amazon.in and went through a lot of reviews and finally decided & placed an order for Rustoleum Speciality Metallic Copper Spray paint. I am not disappointed with my decision. Rust Oleum Metallic Copper spray paint was the right one for the job!!!!The product was delivered well before the timescale, neatly packed and without any damage and the estimated timescale was 3 weeks as this has to be sent from Truworth, Jaipur. The courier arrived with 10 days of being ordered through Blue Dart. The weekend approached, and I was full of zeal to get started to restore the copper statues. First I cleaned the surface of the statues with water and wiped it clean with Microfiber cloth... let it dry. After this, I hand painted both the statues with Metal primer ( Locally available at any hardware store) and let it dry for a day. I felt that this would be better because I wanted the paint to stick to the surface without any issues, however if you are fine, you could also spray the paint directly on to the surface without any primer. Post this, I completed the prep for spray painting.Prep work:* Local Metallic Primer - 100 ml. * 600 & 400 grit sandpapers, * microfiber cloth, * 2ft X 3ft plastic sheets, you could also make sure of the Shalimar Garbage plastic bags or another plastic sheets, * 1/2 Inch brush ( for applying the primer) * 50ml of thinner or petrol.- Cleaned up the surface thoroughly and made sure that there no dust or any excess primer sticking out. In case if there are some, simply use 400 grit sandpaper and apply water on the surface and the sand paper and gently scrub the surface wipe it clean and repeat the same process with 600 grit sandpaper. Once you are sure that you done a thoroughly prep work the next step is to get the statue ready for painting.Getting started:- First read all the necessary instructions clearly and thoroughly.- Shake the can for at least 1 to 2 minutes or until you can see the dents made by the steel ball inside the can at bottom of the can.- If you are using Rust Oleum Comfort spray grip - read the instructions- Place the can on to the comfort gripper and then... the first coat should be a light one - spray from 6 to 8 cms for left to right and the keep the momentum going. Wait for 10 to 15 minutes for the paint to really set in. Make sure that you do not touch the paint to see if it has dried up... if you do... it will leave an ugly mark on the surface, and it will land you up with more work.- Get on with the last coat - heavy coat, spray from 5 to 6 cms and maintain the momentum. Once you are done, just leave the place for an hour or two. To ensure that this paint on the statues remains the way it is... I painted the surface with " Rust Oleum - Crystal Clear Enamel Spray Paint" as top coat. This is to ensure that it has a long lasting durability. I shall post the images of copper painted statues shortly because right now they are drying up. ( Have posted the images today - 07th feb 2018) ... :-)The product is awesome... simply wonderful... and absolute copper color ( pls note : it is not the rustic copper color). I am very happy with the way the statues have come out after painting them Rustoleum - Metallic Copper Spray Paint. and with crystal clear Enamel as top coat. The quantity was sufficient, I just used only 1 can of spray paints of both ( Metallic Copper & Crystal Clear Enamel) even though I order for 2 each, but 1 can of each covered both the statues with ease.Truly worth the money you are investing in.Thank you Rust Oleum and Truworth (India) for giving such wonderful products.Cheers!!!Regards,Antony Paul.

Used it for restoring and recycling metal door handles. Paint gives a very smooth satiny finish. First dipped in acid and rinsed with water, then used rotary wire brush / emery paper / scotch brite pad to clean and remove any other paint and deposits. After it dried gave one coat and second coat after an hour. The paint is very thin so if you hold it too close it will drip; hold at about 8 to 12 inches and move along the object to be painted. Full drying time takes 2 to 4 hours ; do not touch before it is fully dried or it will leave marks.

Amazing finish
It has given an Absolutely perfect finsh for my Ganesh idle.I had applied 2 coats and it took 24hrs to dry but it's worth waiting for to get perfect finish. If someone observed for first time then it difficult to judge it it's real metal or paint.Make sure to cover your nose with mask while applying

Drips a lot, takes a longer time to dry
The colour is good. Compared to other brands I've used, it's really, really difficult to apply this easily. Despite working with tiny amounts, the paint collects and drips like a thin liquid. It also takes much longer to dry.

Durability is zero.
I ordered this product because if its good reviews. it's easy to use no doubt about it. The finishing was good . But it's durability is practically zero. Its paint is coming out within a week. As instructed I have not applied any soap . Just cleaned with wet whip. Very disappointed with the results.Considering its price and results it's not worth it at all . Very disappointed.

Good product
Very good much better than other products. Only drawback is when I sprayed it on plastic plates and allowed it to dry for 24 hrs it still stuck to my fabric on which I kept it while i was working. Guess it leaves a sticky residue which adheres it to delicate materials

Good paint, bad nozzle tip.
The paint in itself is quite good in colour. But the nozzle depicted in the site, as well as on the product itself, was different from the one that's actually in the product. The nozzle is way too small to press, and the chances are high that the paint will spray on to the tip of your fingers too.

The only thing to watch is that you REALLY give the items you spray enough time to dry-- like a whole day or two
It's really gold! It is fool proof too! The only thing to watch is that you REALLY give the items you spray enough time to dry-- like a whole day or two. I sprayed a decor piece and it took it over 24 hours to dry. I accidentally went to grab it and was surprised when the paint was still tacky. Overall, the finish you get with this product is worth the hassle! I love it.

Wow
Wow, I compared it to Krylon metallic gold and the rutOleum is much nicer. The finish is very nice and the gold is more natural. The spray nozzle is also great. It doesnt make a lot of noise and you can really spray in any direction...even upside down! Great product.

Goes on Bright, Then Darkens to a Beautiful Copper
I ordered the Rust-Oleum Copper for a coffee table make-over. I saw pictures of the result of this specific spray paint, and they looked so pretty, I thought I'd try it. I have to admit, I was a little put off by how bright the color on the cap of this is. The spray paint goes on bright, but then darkens a little to a beautiful copper, just like you'd what (or I wanted). The quantity was just enough to paint the entire coffee table. I will be purchasing another for a little touch up and for other DIYs. I should mention, I have seen the price for the copper change from $10 to $7 quite often. I waited for it to become $7 before I purchased it. That is a little annoying, the price just seems to fluctuate from day to day. I would still buy this at $10, but it's not quite as good a deal (especially when gold and silver are about $4) but I just can't seem to get this shade at the Home Depot near me.The marble on the table in my pictures is DC Fix 346-0306 Adhesive Film, Grey Marble, it goes stunningly with this copper. Overall, if you've overused gold and need a change, this is fantastic. The color is lovely and adds to any room, I'm not sure if this is the best price, but the product is worth it for a great DIY. Gorgeous color!
Worked great for our small scale project! If you're using this on furniture or anything that will come into regular contact with items that could scratch it, I'd suggest a clear coat on top. We used this for a table top design, and it looks great. It did scratch off in a couple places very easily, until we clear coated, and now it looks lovely. Very happy with the purchase!

Shiny gold, looks great
I bought this spray paint to coat some small toys just for fun. Works great, no problems. Dries quickly to handle and seems to seal decently after 24 hours (no smudging or rub off). I am pleased with the result color and brightness of the gold, looks good and fun to make some things shine! Definitely recommended.

This made a $10 vase look like a million bucks
This made a $10 vase look like a million bucks. It wasn't spotty and I didn't have to go over the same spot a lot to get full coverage. I love the end result!

Good price, drama-free....but not extremely metallic.
I like this gold spray paint because it's user-friendly and affordable. I've tried other brands or lines of metallic spray paint (e.g. Krylon Metallics, Rustoleum Bright Coat, Testor's, etc.) but this is the easiest and most drama-free. The color isn't mind-blowing by any stretch. It's not really that metallic---sort of a gleaming matte champagne gold---and in some lights it has a slight olive-greenish cast to it. I do wish it was more of a yellow gold, and I obviously wish the finish was more reflective. In no way does the final product resemble actual metal---it's very clear that the object is just coated in gold paint. For reference: it's slightly less metallic than gold Rub n Buff, slightly more metallic than regular old acrylic craft paint, and nowhere near as reflective as Liquid Leaf gilding paint or actual metal leaf. But if you just need a quick and smooth gold, this is not bad for some projects.I'm attaching some photos to show how it does on ceramic and plastic; both dried quickly and covered reasonably well. The black and gold thing is a cheap plastic flowerpot with a single layer of gold at the bottom. You can see that the finish is slightly mottled for some reason--no idea why. Maybe it got some moisture on it. The white and gold thing is a ceramic jar that had 2 coats of gold, followed by a coat of white spray paint. Then I sanded off the white paint in some areas so the gold would show through. They're good enough for now.If you're trying to decide between this and the Rustoleum Bright Coat, there really isn't much difference. Neither will pass as actual metal, and both end up with a dull brushed-gleam finish.

Looks like new shiny polished copper.
I purchased this spray paint to update some cheap hardware. I wanted copper handles and knobs but buying the real stuff didn't fit into the budget for the project. Using cheap nickle hardware and this Rust-Oleum Copper Metallic spray paint I got the look I wanted for a fraction of the price! It went on smooth, covered fantastic (seriously, one coat!) and is holding up well. I may go back and spray a clear finish on to add a little protection, but the finish on the metallic paint is so beautiful as is I'm afraid to change it with a clear finish!Absolutely would purchase again (probably soon)!
