This author has done an extraordinary work of making this presentation as equally attractive as its counterparts in this market. Super heroes are compelling to us all, even those of us who are cynics. Captain Sun is believable and refreshingly powerful in significant areas of social need, relational challenge, and spiritual insight.

If you like comics or superhero stories, this series will be an excellent devotional for you and your family. Well written with excellent artwork. Mr. Morgan reminds us that our heroes and epic stories point us to the greatest story and a real hero who can actually save us!

Great little book that my 10 yr old son LOVED and re-reads. Would recommend to friends and family. Anyone who has a boy that also likes comic books.

I have an 8yo girl and 6yo boy that have loved this book to death- we need to get the others in the series! The illustrations in this graphic novel are wonderful, the story line is enough, without being "prude-ish" or too much. The parallels in the themes to Biblical truths and the Gospel are truly done SO well.When an adult can enjoy reading a children's book, AND enjoys reading it aloud, you can bet it is a well written book. That is exactly how I feel about this one. Thank you SO much for writing an inspiring children's graphic novel for children of all ages (did I mention my 4 and 2yo enjoy it as well?) that isn't just another "twaddle" book to shove down their throats. This is a unique, yet familiar ... comfortable book we all enjoyed!

A really well-constructed story and clear (but not preachy) examples of Captain Sun's moral standards within the story make this an exciting read as well as a thoughtful perspective of superheroes. Heroes are important - even fictional ones. The points made at the end of each chapter in the Bible study reinforce the difference between fact and fiction, and point to Jesus as the real hero for everyone's lives. I found the lessons complementary to the story and absolutely consistent with my beliefs as a Christian. I feel confident that I can share this book with my almost-seven-year-old son and have great conversations about our faith with him, without having to backtrack and correct the messages against the Bible. It all checks out, even the subtext :)The art is full-color and very sleek and bold. It's really very attractive and dynamic - it looks a lot better than some cartoon series I've seen! :)I highly recommend this book and can hardly wait for the sequel.

I have just seen a copy of "Rescue Me" the Super-Nova edition. WOW! What great presentation, the full-color illustrations and glossy paper alone are worth the price of this premium edition. Mr. Morgan has done a great job working the Gospel into a fun filled adventure story for the kids. And the "questions for thought" at the end are going to be great for me and my grand-daughter to discuss and ponder the "greater meaning" behind this comic adventure.Thanks for producing a product that is fun and meaningful that we can give to our kids and other children in the neighborhood as well. Because of the high level of quality overall, this book should be of interest to collecters and fans of comic books anywhere. This will be great for sharing around Christmas time too.

My title to this review highlights the two aspects of this work that stand out to me, Rescue Me's educational value and it's fun presentation.Educationally, I believe that there is nothing more important for children to understand than the Gospel according to Jesus. Author and creator Bryce Morgan has done a terrific job in representing the Gospel as explained in Scripture, articulating it clearly for children and giving parents a great question guide in the back of the book for them to facilitate further discussion.Regarding it's fun presentation of a heavy and important topic, both Mitch Martin and Bryce Morgan have done a stellar job in bringing the characters to life. Martin's artwork is beautiful and vibrant, reminding this long admirer of comic-book art of the inspirational work I grew up on. It pops off the page with fluid action and dynamic color, leading the reader joyfully to the "Capital City Chronicle" page at the end of each chapter that contains the Biblical lesson. Also, the "Super Nova" edition adds much more fun to the creation of the project including artist sketches and the original work by Bryce himself.All-in-all, Bryce and Mitch have done a great job in providing an excellent and needed resource to parents, guardians, and pastors. In an age where superheroes dominate the entertainment industry, it is important for our youth to first understand who the One true Hero is: Jesus Christ. May their work bring the truth, love, and hope of Christ to the youth within each of our spheres of influence!

Finding a book that parents can trust and kids will love isn't easy, but the creator team of Morgan and Martin pulled it off. The story is uplifting, the layouts are fantastic, and the character design and visual storytelling are on par with comic book titles like Young Justice and the animated version of Teen Titans that came out a few years back. The style has a very animated feel, which will draw kids in. Can't wait to see where the adventures of Captain Sun will lead.
