Mam Papaul's Banana Foster Mix

I had this product at a friends house and it was incredible! Wanted some. Ordered some...Got Jumbalya mix instead. I would really like my Banana Foster Mix!

I add sliced bananas to the prepared mix and let them marinate in the fridge until bananas are nicely soaked with the mix. Then remove them to eat straight, or on ice cream or pancakes. Then I add more sliced bananas to the mix and repeat. The prepared mix lasts a long time this way and you can enjoy the bananas without the overwhelming sweetness of the mix. You can even add a little of the sauce with the bananas if you prefer it sweeter.

We had company over for supper tonight and made the Bananas Foster for dessert. It's simple and easy to make and you wind up with a thick, sweet sauce, coating bananas, that you serve over ice cream. It tastes great but is a bit too sweet for my tastes. But if you enjoy sweet, decadent desserts you should give it a try.

Better than homemade.

It is what you get far as what the box describes. However, it is extremely sweet. I tried it with four bananas. I removed two of the bananas from the sauce, and then added a little Armagnac (cognac) (1/8 cup) to the remaining sauce and bananas. I cooked this for about 2 more minutes. This did turn out a little better. It took the sweetness down to a more palatable level.
