I'm beginning to really love this translation!
I have found this translation of the Holy Bible to be very helpful and encouraging to my soul. The King James version has an eloquent beauty to it like no other writing in the English language, however, I believe the NET Bible is much more practical and reminiscent to the original purpose in which the Greek Scriptures where written in, Koine - "common", rather than the classical - ("Koine was more practical than academic, putting the stress on clarity rather than eloquence. Its grammar was simplified, exceptions were decreased and generalized, inflections were dropped or harmonized, and sentence-construction made easier. Koinê was the language of life and not of books" - Robertson, A.T. A Grammar of the Greek New Testament in the Light of Historical Research. Nashville: Broadman Press, 1934).This reader's version is great for daily Bible reading and for those who need a larger print; the compact version for taking with you to work, school, or ministry; and the original NET for in-depth language and Bible study.I would highly recommend this Bible to anyone! God's peace to you!

Easy to read, quote, and carry
The NET Bible was created to be the first major translation in contemporary English available for free on the Internet for you to download and use in Bible studies and other teaching materials. Unlike other modern versions, this one can be quoted at great length without permission, which can be especially helpful for writers, pastors, and other communicators for Christ. Although Bible.org makes this admirable edition free on the Internet, some Bible lovers, such as myself, still prefer to have their own copies in print. My choice was to order the reader edition in a genuine leather cover with smyth-sewn pages, clear font, and nice size for carrying with me and recommending wherever I go.

Excellent Bible version
I have been using this Bible version for over a year and really like the ease of reading--easier to understand. Binding is so-so. Quality could be better--less loose. Also would like to have this version offered in various colors and qualities of leather and binding.

Affordable, Accurate, High Quality Bible
What can I say, that I haven't said before about the NET? I have the full notes edition as well and I have the utmost respect for the translation team and their transparency. No translation will be perfect, and all humans have biases, but I really feel the NET translation team really did a great job. I am a student of the original Hebrew and Greek languages and while I haven't found one single translation that translates every word as I might, my three favorites are the NRSV, NASB, and the NET, for the simple fact that these are pleasurable for me to read while being accurate. Many like the ESV, and I have nothing particularly bad to say about the ESV, it just doesn't appeal to me. The NET exceeds the NRSV in the fact that while the NET accurately translates "brothers and sisters" when an author is addressing the whole, mixed gender church, it doesn't embarassingly remove all references to masculine pronouns. In this regard the NET is more accurate, in other places the NRSV is more accurate. They are both great translations, the best (for me and my purposes) on the market, but there were times that I feel the NRSV went too far with the gender neutral thing. But to be fair, of all the bibles I own, this one and my Pitt Minion NRSV never leave the place of reading prominence on my bedside table. The leather on this bible is very nice, especially considering the price. It is not as nice as the RL Allan series, but then again what bibles are? I would say it is only slightly lower in quality than a Pitt Minion bible, and only because of the text block; for me anyway, the font could have been maybe one point smaller, but many will like the more legible font. Let's be honest here, the NET team made an ecumenical bible, that isn't skewed to one specific theological group, with very high quality binding for a very reasonable price.

Great Value for the Money
This is an excellent quality Bible. The leather is soft like that of much more expensive Bibles and lays flat. The paper is a nice thickness and the ink doesn't bleed through the page. The pages were stuck together around the edges but it only took a few minutes to separate them. The print is a great size, too. Not too big or too small and there's room to write notes in the margins. I didn't receive the CD that was supposed to come with it, but all in all, a very good value for the money.

Wrong Binding
I found nothing wrong with the translation, but the Bible I received, and I returned, was bonded leather, not the top grain genuine leather as stated.

Book Review
Ah, another Bible for my collection. I have them all (what I think is all) and this is also a definite plus for my library. I enjoy reading different versions to see the take on Scripture.

Beautiful Leather Bible
Beautiful leather Bible. Nice large text and good sized Bible.Old Testament texts referred to in the New Testament are in bold italic.Maps in the back which are actually satellite images.Just not sure why they don't have them North at the top rather than at odd angles.
