Swanson Green Leaf Stevia Extract 100 Packets

I purchased this Stevia because I wanted to eliminate the chemical artificial sweeteners in my diet. I really wanted to like this product and bough both the packets and the can. Yes, the product does sweeten whatever you put it in.... but it has an "interesting" taste. It is not a bad taste, but I have yet to use it again after the initial trial. If you are looking for a sugar substitute that tastes like sugar, this is not it... if you are looking for an alternative sweetener that is healthier, give it a shot!

We have used Swanson brand for a number of years. It is always top quality. Swanson is also the only brand to have Stevia in larger quantity.

The name on this is deceptive. I was expecting to get the whole leaf green stevia. This is white powder.

I have been experiencing a slight rise in blood sugar and did not like what I read about splenda and saccharine actually causing rises in your glycemic index. I was worried about buying stevia because I had heard it was soooo expensive. It was very reasonably priced, I use half a packet for a glass of lemonade or tea. Perfect sweetness and no bitter after taste.

My family has been using stevia for 14 years, now. We've been using this brand of stevia for at least four years, and we're very pleased with the quality and the economy of the product. Yes, it does contain rice maltodextrin, but that really has not been a problem for us.

After reading the review that exposed the fact that this product contains rice maltodextrin, (if you don't know what that is and the effects that it has on diabetics...Google it).I feel really ripped off! I am SURE that that is why this product is always on SALE! They are trying to dump it!!I only discovered this minor detail after I was getting ready to reorder. It would seem to me that a company like Swanson would have enough sense to know what maltodextrin is, and that they would not sell a product like this to those wishing to control their sugar; (0r at least a WARNING in big RED letters). Of course if that did that, they probably would not sell any of this product since 99.5% of the people that purchase this product do so with that fact in mind.WARNING: READ ALL LABELS and RESEARCH EVERY PURCHASE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BUY! Otherwise, the SHARKS will get YOU!

I have tried the Stevia Plus and this Swanson brand. The Stevia Plus doesn't dissolve very well in liquids, but this Swanson brand does. And for the difference in price, I will definitely buy Swanson's brand. I would highly recommend this product. I'm getting ready to order 4 mroe boxes of the Swanson brand.
