Novinex Swimming Pool Solar Reel Protective Cover for Pools up to 18' Wide (Cover Only)

This cover does not fasten as shown in images that indicate overlapping the excess and fastening to velcro on the outside of cover. Both pieces of velcro, too small and not enough, are sewn at edge of both sides on the inside of one edge and outside of other edge allowing and overlap of the width of the velcro, about one inch at most. This results in almost no overlap and severe sagging of the cover. There is about a foot of velcro starting 14 inches from each end and another foot of velcro near the center. That leaves a gap of about 8 FEET between the small strips of velcro which, with NO overlap, gaps open allowing wind to enter. If you are willing to try to sew or glue additional velcro to the cover in enough places to be effective it is not a bad cover. Probably adequate for the job. Or you can get a few pieces of small rope and tie it in several places, which is what I am doing. I will keep it and make do by tying, bu I am far from happy! Also, be careful of other, more expensive covers. A close look at the images in their advertising reveals they are the EXACT same images used in this product's advertising! Same issues only more money!

Has ties at each end, but is much too long for the pool blanket. If you start at one end, everything work well until you get to the other end - in my case there in no Velcro and if I cut the cover I lose the ties. so I have a bungee cord to keep the far end closed until I can get to Lowes to buy velcro. Plus I suppose I may be able to sew the discarded tie on the cut end. Completely untruthful description unless you have the exact proper length cover on a roller.Unfortunately my pool is smaller than 18 feet. My advice is to look elsewhere unless your pool cover is 18 feet wide.All this purchase did was to create more work and be annoying.

Cover quality appears OK at first glance, however, there is not enough velcro in the right places to make it stay on the reel. This is especially true if you are using it on a reel that is less than 18 feet long. This cover should have velcro attatchments all along the seam or come with several straps to keep the cover on the reel for a variety of reel lengths.

Description said this cover is good "for Pools up to 18' Wide". This is an outright lie. The cover I received was considerably shorter than my 18' solar cover (I did not measure it - probably 14 - 16 feet wide). The fabric was nice, and I liked the drawstring and velcro features, but why lie about the length when you know people will simply return the unusable item?

Simply put-this cover doesn't cover much of anything. When wrapped around a pool blanket on a blanket reel, it has a 3 inch piece of Velcro at each end, and a 3 inch piece of Velcro in the center. That's all that fastens it. That's all that holds it in place. And guess what happens if there's a little bit of a breeze?You guessed it. It opens the cover up, billows it out, and pulls it most of the way off.If you buy it (and I don't recommend that you do) you'll also need several bungee cords to wrap around it to keep the cover in place. But if you do plan to do that, then you could get away with a much less expensive blue tarp.

Going on about 9 months and have had to use duct tape in numerous spots due to spontaneous holes. The material seems to "thin out" with sun exposure. Could be birds landing on it, don't know. Unless you are planning on replacing annually, I would go for a heavier duty material. It's essentially a very light tarp.

I would recommend ordering a size up from the width of your pool. I ordered the cover for an 18’ wide solar blanket and it’s at least 16” too short!The cover is very thin but seems ok otherwise. I do like the Velcro closures and the ties at the ends of the cover. The fabric is not tarp material so hopefully it will last more than a couple seasons.

I like that this is not a woven plastic cover but it does not cover our 16’ solar blanket completely. I had to cut a white plastic garbage bag to cover the 10” section that is exposed. I am disappointed
