Curved boards are great.
Being a curved board it makes helping someone who has no control of their legs super easy to transfer from a bed to a wheelchair when they are perpendicular to the wheelchair or viceversa. where as using a straight board they have to change 45 degrees while on the board and 45 degrees getting off the board.

Greatly aids transfers
My wheelchair and bed elevate, so transfers are always "downhill". I love it! (-Anne's husband)
