NO Holes License Plate Bracket Kit for The VW MKV Models (MK5 2006-2009 Jetta, EOS, GTI, R32) No Drill Tow Hook License Plate Mount

Product used on a 2008 VW Rabbit. As shipped, the bracket wouldn't clear the bumper, even with the included spacers. The tow hook insert is simply too short for the plate frame attachment to clear the bumper properly. I got it to work eventually by going to my local big box hardware store and buying a variety of similar bolts for around sixteen dollars and it ended up that an (M12 80mm 1.75 bolt) could push the plate far enough out from the bumper to be effective. The stock bolt that shipped with the product was perhaps 10mm long, simply not long enough at all. As it sits, it will still rub the bumper with the screws that hold the plate on, without the aid of something in between the bumper and the plate holder.This product may work for a Jetta or something else, and it would be great if it weren't for two outstanding issues: First, I asked the community if it would be compatible and the manufacturer/seller themselves responded indicating that it WOULD work. Second, the fact that I bought 25% of the product at a hardware store myself for pennies on the dollar, negating any convenience factor that would have justified an eighty dollar purchase made this a one to two star product in my opinion. Add to this issue was a ten dollar restocking fee when the manufacturer claimed it would work correctly? That's terrible.See my pictures of the product. It's clear that this product needs to be either rethought, or re-branded to include only the cars that it is truly compatible with.

It’s hard to install but overall does fit good and is secure.

to install it, for the R32 peeps we have to make a hole on passenger side in order for us to install it. The tow hook is behind the Grill on the bottom by the passenger. the down side is, I have a tag infront of my car LOL.. the good thing is, I don't get tickets no more!This is a good buy!

The bracket was easy to install and was of high quality. They could improve the instructions by notifying the purchaser that there are spacer washers in the package to be used to increase the clearance between the license plate mount and the bumper.

Excellent product. Note: requires drilling (or cutting) a small hole into the front passenger-side fog light cover so that the tow bolt can be accessed.
