Delicious!
Yes, they're a bit of an investment, but the flavor is great and the perfect texture, enhanced by the olive oil, make them absolutely worth it. I finished a box in record time and am already buying more. The online picture alone is enough to make me hungry. Can't wait for my next order to arrive!

These are delectable oysters & love that they're in olive oil!
Our family has been eating oysters for years, but this Otter Kingdom brand has to be the tastiest ever-- tender and flavorful-- Highly Recommended. Re: what a previous reviewer had posted: “These oysters come with a Prop 65 “Reproductive Health” warning on the packaging.” After looking into this Prop 65 warning, I found that most products that come from the ocean could have absorbed mercury, so this California Prop 65 label is stuck on a lot (if not all) of fish/seafood products. But each kind of fish/seafood has a different level of exposure. According to the LiveStrong website article: “Which Fish Has the Highest and Lowest Mercury Levels?” the seafood with the lowest mercury content includes: catfish, clams, crab, herring, OYSTERS, salmon, sardines, shrimp, tilapia fish, tuna fish, among others. These should be eaten no more than 2 to 3 times a week (most people stay within that guideline). It’s the larger-sized fishes that tend to have higher mercury content, so oysters are of no more concern than any other small fish. Just wanted people to not get out bent out of shape about this label. The State of CA has a lot of concerns to deal with-- like wildfire devastation caused by their policy to restrict water from flowing from the north of the state, so it would probably be better for them to focus on THOSE life-endangering issues rather than sticking all these "WARNING" labels on food products! Right?

Fresh oyster taste
You only have to open the tin to see these are quality oysters. Their size is uniform and they are sitting like little pillows in the tin, all lined up.The greatest strength of these oysters is also their weakness, depending on your point of view. They taste more like fresh oysters than any smoked oysters I have ever eaten. But they also don't have much smoky flavor. I could have done with a bit more smoke to them, but I can see how a lot of people would prefer them this way, especially with so many tinned smoked oysters being smoked half to death.I would have given these oysters five stars if they had just been seasoned a bit more, either with smoke or with something else. Just a hair more smoke would have been perfect. They also have a version seasoned with red chili pepper, which might be a better option for those who like spicy foods.

Best Canned Oysters I've Ever Had!
I've always liked oysters, raw on the half-shell, fried, stewed, canned, etc. Canned oysters were probably on the bottom of the list until I came across these. The consistency of texture and size is very impressive. The price for a case of 12 might seem a bit pricey but when you do the math each can works out to be on par with anything available in the local grocery store.Plus the only ingredients are oysters and olive oil, as opposed to the standard cotton seed oil with other added ingredients. Perfect for a nutritious snack or to add to a recipe. I'll be buying these as long as they're available. I would give my highest recommendation for any oyster lover! <3
