It's a little spicy but not off putting AND the onion chunks definitely tell you this isn't your granny's bland tuna fish! This is very convenient, great alone or as a base for salads and macaroni/noodle casseroles. This is a great item to have on hand in one's pantry, backpack or lunch box.This was on sale at less than a BUCK a pack including shipping, another reason to love it! I didn't give it 5-STARS is it's FLAKES not the chunks I expected so I could easily lunch out of the pack with a plastic fork and napkin without seeming too uncivilized at work.UPDATE: The BOX does indicate CHUNK LIGHT TUNA while he pouches do not. Not surprisingly, the University crowd likes to add a pouch to Mac-N-Cheese and ramen noodles to punch them up a bit...who knew lol

Although the packets are a bit small, the tuna is tasty and not priced too badly. I get these as a snack, there is not enough of it to be anymore than that. I get the case delivered every 3 months. I think this is a good product, but I'm not head over heels in love with it. I use it when I have pretty much nothing else because the portion is so tiny. I generally have to use 2 or more to feel satiated. However, it does have the benefit of being in a pouch which is very convenient. For that reason, I feel it serves it's purpose.

An acquired taste, kind of odd? Taste like pepper, dry onion and lemon seasoning. Not for kids, fussy palates or those with digestion issues. It is edible but would not order again. Prefer mayo/miracle whip my own fresh seasonings. Had this on toasted bagel with miracle whip. I am not a fussy eater and like spicy., but this is odd??? If you try it for quick sandwiches, drain off extra water before mixing. I would not use in casseroles, taste it first.

I hoped to take these as snacks/lunch to work, adding cottage cheese and fresh tomatoes to the mix. Let's just say this came out more as a paste, unlike other chunk tuna (of a famous brand) in a foil pack. But the flavor is absolutely the worst: it is incredibly bitter-- you cannot taste the onion, but there is a peppery back taste, behind the bitterness. I thought perhaps it was me, but my table mate wrinkled up her nose when I opened the pack, as the fishy smell is incredibly pungent and not at all appetizing. This entire box is going to the local pet shelter-- maybe cats will like it.

It could be only our experience but my husband got stomach problems the day he ate this tuna so he won't eat the other 11 that are in the pantry. The expiration date is in four months, which is a little soon. I will have to give it a go. Will try and let you know how it works out.

At Amazon's price, this product is a good value. It tastes great, is reasonably filling (for roughly 3 oz of protein) and is easy to carry in your bag or briefcase -- so a good quick meal or snack when temptation strikes. The list of ingredients includes "sugar," and that no doubt explains the 5g of cars in this single serving pack. I would like to see the sugar reduced or eliminated. That said, I do recommend these.

I was having big hope for this tuna, but the flavor kinda let me down. It's sour somehow, and sour salmon is not that good

Hate to give this a lower rating but it's just TOO spicy for me. Since I bought a whole box of it, 12 packets, I had to find creative ways to use it and reduce that extra heat. Using it with something noodle-y and cheese-y worked for me. Sorry to say I won't buy this particular version again. Put out a less spicy version and I'd probably like it.
