A Hand Powered Wood Saw
This wood saw is priced good and works great. It cuts straight and is high quality.

Good bite
Nice handsaw. I ended up ordering 3. One for me and 2 for family members. No matter how many power tools you have, you need to keep a good handsaw handy. This saw is good ergonomically and has a good bite when starting the cut.

For the money, it's hard to beat
For only $17, this saw is a real bargain and does the job I needed it to do. I bought it specifically to help in the process of making boards from freshly cut oak logs that I gather from trees that have fallen or been cut down (it's hard to identify the species for sure, but likely one of the California native oaks). I use logs that I can pick up, so mostly 2' by 10-12" diameter. I first split them with steel wedges, which leaves 6-8 pie shaped segments depending on the size board I'm looking for. Ideally, a band saw could take care of this whole process, but I don't have one, so I needed a good rip saw to break down the wedges into blocks which could then be planed to thickness. While the Pro Touch course saw isn't an actual rip saw per se (a saw filed specifically to make rip cuts along the grain of the wood, typically with only 4-5 teeth per inch, or TPI), despite it's high TPI of 9, the deep gullets and very sharp teeth allow to it work fairly effectively for rip cuts. And in the oak I'm working with, which is very hard and dense, that's really saying something. And cutting so well in fresh oak is even more impressive. It leaves a pretty rough cut with prominent saw marks, which I can remove with a scrub plane, so that's not an issue for me. My overall impression is that this is a great saw for making rough dimensional cuts, both rip and crosscut. Don't expect it make the kind of fine cuts a finer panel or joinery saw can make, and you'll be happy with it.

Every builder should have one of these
Great Saw for timber framing! I bought this saw mostly because I couldn't afford the lynx 1 man cross cut saw to cut my logs and timbers for the timber frame buildings I am creating. Now that I have used it, I see that for the money this saw is great. Cuts through red pine like butter. I do have to use wd40 to keep the pitch from building up, but so far it is working amazingly! The only thing I did run into is that it can be difficult to start the cut especially on a round log, but once you start it cuts like a dream!

Keep this saw on hand, and you’ll be glad when handling a downed tree for firewood!
This timber saw works like a champ in the forest. I bought another due to my experiences cutting up downed trees for firewood with it. Value, cutting power due to blade design, and durability brought me back.
