Not sure why this question has not been answered as it is very important. HOCl has a shelf like that decreases in potency by 1% each day. You can use chlorine strips to check potency. Basically the water used needs to go through the following or other studied and proven process and then be bottled immediately in the proper container in order to produce a product that would be fresh upon opening. You can buy more concentrated forms and dilute yourself but make sure you know what plastics to use and count on a 1% decrease in efficiency per day. This is fine if you are using it to sanitize a lab or say a chicken coup and use it all at once. Without rigorous and exact treatment of water and correct storage containers this product closed or open would be useless in 100 days. Here is one method:

1. A method for producing a shelf stable hypochlorous acid solution comprising:
treating tap water through a water softener to produce softened water having hardness less than 40 ppm;
treating the softened water through a reverse osmosis system to produce softened purified water having less than 40 ppm alkalinity and less than 80 ppm total dissolved solids;
combining the softened purified water with at least 99% pure sodium chloride to form a saline process solution;
electrolyzing the saline process solution by passing the saline process solution through a chamber having an anode positioned on an anode side and a cathode positioned on a cathode side, the anode side and the cathode side being separated by a membrane constructed and arranged to only permit the migration of chemical ions in one direction therethrough;
whereby a hypochlorous acid solution is formed on the anode side and a sodium hydroxide is formed on the cathode side and;
the hypochlorous acid solution is directed to containers for distribution.

It appears that this question is best answered by the manufacturer/seller. I am curious to know what method of purification is used and what potency the product has at 3 month intervals from the date of manufacture in both open and sealed containers. What material is used for bottling the product? How quickly is it bottled after manufacture? Basically how do your customers know that they are actually using a product that lost effectiveness 6 months ago in a warehouse? Can you direct us or answer this question?
