Edible Butterflies Small Size Premium Crafted Made in the USA Cake and Cupcake Toppers, Decoration (Rainbow)

These were great for decorating my 3 year olds requested butterfly birthday cupcakes. I ordered a few brands and these were by far the best. They are pretty tasteless but better 'tasting' than other brands and definitely MUCH more artistic and delicate than other brands I ordered. If you are on the fence go with these. (Note: The middle butterfly in photo is from one of the other brands I ordered which were slightly larger, but the ring of butterflies is this brand).

You can crease these in the middle without them breaking. Don't taste like much, but they are gluten free! I did practice cupcakes with these, and they are absolutely beautiful.Whether they get eaten or not isn't an issue, but these are perfect for a magical cake/cupcakes for someone who can't tolerate gluten. They are flexible enough that you can bend them in the middle to look like a butterfly at rest. All the butterflies have different patterns. I can't wait for this kid to see her cake!

Colors were great and I only had 1 broken one in. The package but it was still useable.

I ordered a small set and a larger sized set. They just arrived, and I am happy with them overall. I was expecting them to taste sweet, but my daughter says they taste like a "stinky old rotten shoe." She is nearly eight and given to hyperbole, however.Taste: A little bitter. I thought they would be made of some kind of sugar paper, but they have the taste and texture of edible rice paper (although they are actually made of potato starch.) I believe whatever ink/colorant is used makes them a little bitter.Color: They are not as bright and the detail is not as sharp as the pictures on Amazon. The blue is quite bright as is the yellow, but the red in particular seems muted. They look like they were printed on some kind of specialty printer and then stamped/cut out. Remember printing a photograph on a home printer in the early 90s? That's a pretty good approximation of image color and quality. That said, they are quite pretty, especially arranged together. They are only printed on one side. The back is white/off white.Flexibility: I haven't figured out how to bend the wings more than a tiny bit without breaking the butterfly in half.Shipping and Packaging: they shipped in a plastic baggie inside a stiff plastic package inside a cardboard envelope. They were in perfect shape and arrived four business days after ordering from ZIP Code 91770 in Rosemead, CA.Ingredients: "wafer paper: potato starch, vegetable oil, water, vanilla, food color"Shelf life: They appear to have a pretty long shelf life. They say "do not refrigerate."I would recommend these to friends and by them again.

I'm very, very happy with these butterflies! Yes, I agree with some of the other reviewers, the colors were not as vivid as the image shown, but they were still beautiful and stunning on the Birthday Cupcakes I baked.I firmly but gently pressed the body of the butterfly to warm it prior to slightly bending individual butterflies. I did break a couple of wings off but it was easy enough to place both halves into the frosting to appear as a whole so it wasn't an issue and they looked pretty cute. If it's a problem or you'd rather try something else, attach it to a toothpick with a dab of frosting or a thick clear syrup (Kayo) and then place it onto your baked goods.Some of the reviews stated the butterflies dissolved in the frosting, which is what I expected but it didn't happen at all, even those I laid completely flat against the frosting; in fact, it's been a few days lying in the frosting and they have not melted or dissolved yet.Anyway, I'm really pleased with them and plan to purchase other images from them in the future, so I do highly recommend this product.

Looks pretty but tastes gross. Inky. I could only tolerate to eat one of these. It's just pretty decoration for cakes. It's edible due to ingredient but not very tasty.

These looked so pretty on my daughter's cake. They came right on time, within one week of ordering. They're bright and colorful, with several different varieties. I love that it's not 2-3 butterflies repeated over and over, but quite a big selection. Some of them were really detailed. They come flat and you can either leave them that way or bend them a bit in the middle to make them more three-dimensional. They don't have much of a taste but are edible. I placed them on the cake hours before the party and had no issue with running of the colors or any wilting of the butterflies.Highly recommended - they add such a nice, unique touch.

These were not very vibrant colored but looked very nice on a cake, they held up days after in the refrigerator on the cake, kids absolutely loved them.
