Color:Black In 1972, henna was re-introduced to the consumer with amazing success. What had once been discarded as a primitive hair coloring process was once again a viable force in the beauty field. Fear over chemical side effects as well as a growing interest in healthy products helped to push henna into the limelight again, but the true leader of what became known as the "Henna Revolution" was and still is AVIGAL HENNA. New shrubs of the Lawsonia plant were discovered and developed, which gave life to different colors and shade gradations. AVIGAL HENNA took these shrubs and created a whole new look -- natural, vibrant highlights for every type of hair -- permed, bleached, tinted or virgin. The basic difference between Avigal Henna and other hennas on the market is that Avigal Henna is 100% pure henna made from the finest quality henna available. Avigal Henna is the safest and most effective way to color and condition the hair. Simply add hot water to the henna powder, mix well and apply. Follow the time specified on the enclosed instruction sheet. If you use an external heat source, you can cut the processing time by 30%. PERMED HAIR? You can apply Avigal Henna over permed hair without worry. In fact, Avigal Henna will lock in the perm, making the curl last longer. If you want to perm after a henna application, perm as usual and then reapply henna since the chemicals in the perm will strip the henna color from the hair. GREY HAIR? Avigal Henna has developed 6 shades for single process use on grey hair: Natural, Hazel, Topaz, Champagne, Strawberry Blonde and Red. Each may be applied directly onto grey or graying hair for highlights ranging from extraordinary shine to rich red. Grey hair can also be darkened by the double process method.

Great products.
I have been using this product (same brand and color) for over 10 years. I have tried colors from the store, but this brand gives me the most compliments from others stating how well my hair looks and they love the color. I have hair to the middle of my back and I get 6 applications out of this can.

Works great. Allergic to normal hair dye
My 70 year old aunt recommended this hair dye. It's a little more work for me than having someone else dye my hair but I'm allergic to normal hair dye products.

Better than hair dye !
I mixed the Red Henna with the Auburn looks fabulous. A little messy so I suggest you have someone apply for you.... So worth it !

Avigal Henna Extra Tips for all Colors
I used to use Avigal henna when I was younger, then it wasn't sold in the stores anymore. Very glad I found it again. .I'm tired of using chemicals that dry out my hair more than it is already. (I have curly fine and prone to dryness hair).Since I've found this product it is all I use. The color I like is cognac. It blondes the grey while allowing my brown hair to stay brown. My hairdresser of years past had given me some really good tips that I want to share (the whole reason for this post).Beat an egg into the mixture and if you want the color to be a little darker use a spoon or two of coffee. (the egg adds protein, the coffee is also a natural color.) This time around I also used a few drops of oil for good measure ( remember my hair is dry). After that I shampoo with devachan. (yes a shameless plug). Hope this helps! Enjoy!

Overall Good Product
I love the color that it gives my hair in such a relativly short time for henna. The only draw back I see is that the color fades rather quickly leaving me to have to dye all of my hair every month (which is quite the chore given that it goes all the way down below my hips!!). I don't know if I would buy the product again, but I would definitly recommend it to a first time henna user. Also, what I'm seeing in alot of reviews is that many people think that many Avigal products don't contain 100% henna. This is probably true because in order to get varrying shades with henna, one has to mix in cassia (to go lighter) or indigo (to go darker) with the henna. I still believe that the products are 100% natural though.
