This toy was an unexpected win. Our toddler loves lacing up the cheese — keeps her busy in the car etc. It’s high quality and adorable, not to mention affordable. Would be a great gift for a little one in your life.

The media could not be loaded. My son loves playing with this lacing apple. He cab stay busy and focused for minutes lacing the little wooden caterpillar through the holes. The quality of the wooden apple is good and smooth. Definitely recommend as a montessori activity for your little one.

I purchased this wooden lacing cheese for my nephew, who is nearly 2 years old. He seems to be a good age for this toy. It is well-sized for his tiny hands to hold and turn. The "mouse" needle on a string seems smoothly finished and securely attached. The cheese itself is nicely painted and feels sturdy. The holes are a fun challenge since they are set at various angles. My nephew likes putting the mouse in one hole and looking to see where it will pop out on the other side. The string is long enough to allow for several paths to be laced through the cheese. My only criticism is that some of the holes are a bit rough on the inside. Not enough to cause a safety concern, but I am wondering if the string may fray over time from passing against the rough wood. All in all, I am happy with this purchase and I think this will be a good toy for travel and for quiet times.

This is a great toy for little ones. My childcare kids are ages 1-3. It's too difficult for the one-year-olds (and I would be VERY careful letting anyone that age play with it -- the string is very long and could go around their neck!) But my 2 & 3yo kids loved it. They love putting the worm through the holes. I have to UNDO it when they are done because reverse engineering is too tough for them. ;-) But otherwise, I expect to get years of use out of this toy with many, many children.

The media could not be loaded. I thought the concept of this toy was adorable and when I saw it in someone’s bag of toys for taking kids out to restaurants, I immediately bought it. I’m iffy on this one because it’s a really cute idea and I love the overall look of this toy, but the details just don’t do it for me. The string feels really thin, but still very safe - I’ve pulled on it really hard and it didn’t feel like it was going to break or come loose, but it still worries me. My son is 14 months, so this would probably be better for an older toddler. The wood construction and size of the apple is great, but the paint will chip when your toddler inevitably swings it around and hits it against things. I think this is still a good toy, with supervision.
