We're hearing a lot more of the 'real' Mark Salling, as opposed to 'Puck' Mark Salling. Gotta admire him being true to himself.
I think it's pretty safe to say that most everyone is here on this page because they learned of Mark Salling on Glee, and fell in love with his music and sound there. But, Mark Salling is FAR from being like Puck. This album is entirely the brain storm and effort of Mark Salling, and those who helped him to make it. For those folks who are here looking for Puck, you won't find much of him in this album. Sure, there are moments when vocally they match up... But they are few and far between, and Mark sounds MUCH more like himself on thia album. The album leans more towards an indy rock vibe, with some leaning towards R&B, and just a touch of folk music in there. Mixed all together with Mark's unique voice, it makes for an equally unique album acrsoss the board. I'm so glad he didn't allow the pressures of the music industry to force him to change the album that he wanted to make. It easily could have been just Glee: The Music, Puck. LOL But instead we have a more intimate look inside the mind of Mark Salling. If you're a Salling fan, and can keep an open mind about there being no Puck here, then I suggest getting this album. Overall, I give it a solid A-. Give it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Thanks for your time folks. Sincerely, R.A. McDowell

High Expectations
When I pre-ordered this cd I had pretty high expectations, especially since I have the entire 'Smoke Signals' album on my MP3 player and love it. I'm very glad that it's even better than I was hoping it would be. Higher Ground is probably my favorite song on the album but each one is soulful, with a sixties folk song quality you don't hear much anymore. I'm not sure how young fans of Glee will respond to the songs because it is not typical modern music, but maybe it will introduce them to varieties of music outside of the 24/7 media machine that is the Jonas Brothers/Miley Cyrus world. I actually recommended the cd to my mom (who does not watch Glee) because it's similar to the type of music she grew up with. Overall I am extremely pleased with the cd and hope to see more albums from him in the future.

Awesome CD
Love this CD! As a fan of Mark's from his first CD (Smoke Signals, released under the name Jericho) and (of course) Glee, I was expecting this album to be great and was not let down. From the single "Fugitive" that I've had on repeat for days and to the song "Illusions" which has a video available on E!'s website, there is so much to love about this album. The title track "Pipe Dreams" is a great tribute to the support Mark receives from his loved ones.In short, this album is a great representation of an artist succeeding in what he left home to do.

pleasantly surprised
It wasn't what I was expecting but I was very pleased with the product none the less. For some reason I was expecting crappy rock music was was delighted to find an original score and combination of early rock, folk, alternative and even a little hip-hop and R&B.That being said I can see why it's not selling well. It's not a popular genre but luckily one that I quite enjoy. Several songs are now stuck in my head and the delightful Mary Poppins is now my ring tone.

Interesting Sound
I love his voice, and I admit I originally only got this because of Glee. But, in the end I'm glad I did because it's an awesome record that I can just keep listening to over and over.

puck unplugged
mark's cd was about the price as walmart so it could have been cheaper and arrived quicker. the music in itself is a mixture of smooth jazz which he does incredibly well, a bit rock, a hint of country and his own sound and really enjoyable . I would buy more if he came out with another cd.

Amazing performer.
A fan of Glee since the very beginning, my daughter and I both think that Mark Salling's talent bears wa-a-a-ay more spotlight than it gets in the show. Amazing performer... and songwriter too! More please...

Good sound, nothing new.
I enjoy this album and its variety and subjects. It is a bit nickelback like but I feel thats in a good way.

gute Lieder
