Essential Learning Products Stencil Mill

There seem to be a lot of mixed reviews on this product, though overall customers seem very satisfied, but here's the real lowdown from a former teacher who bought this set for a grandchildren's craft box I was doing up for Christmas. Yes, this product was a teacher freebie for sending home Highlights subscription forms. But unless you can figure a way to get it free, go ahead and spend the money, because it has been the best set of stencils I ever added to my classroom. After 15 years of regular use, the box/handle and all the stencils were still going strong. And believe me, the set had been knocked around a lot over the years. Children never tire of creating pictures with the huge variety of stencil shapes in this box. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon after scouring the stores and searching online for stencils to include in the craft box I was putting together. And no craft box could be complete without stencils to trace in their artwork creations. It's small size makes it easy to store, and the handle means they can carry it along on trips or around the house. Perfect for any age elementary child. My personal box was used with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders, and all these ages would rush to get these whenever they had free time or inside recess. Don't listen to people nit picking about how close the designs are to each other on each stencil card, or the quality of the box. You will not be disappointed. Take it from someone who had and used a set like this for years. It will last far longer than it is used if you are getting it for your own children. Teachers... grab it at this price, or get it free through Highlights. Either way, you'll be glad to have it.

I bought these for my grandson who is 5. My fault, should have read more closely. I am sure they are great for children a bit older. They are small (3.75" x 5.75") so you need to use a very fine point with them, not the larger markers he is using. There are a lot of stencils here, but they are very small stencils, so be aware of that. For an older child they would no doubt be perfect. I bought the 2 sets of Karty stencils that are available on Amazon (alphabet/numbers and dinosaurs) and they are great. Much, much larger and easier for him to draw with. Those were the only 2 larger sets I found in the Karty line on Amazon, but will look elsewhere and see if they make more designs for children. I would highly recommend those for a small child. There is nothing wrong with this product; my point here is you need to make sure they are large enough for your child to handle comfortably, and that the stencils themselves have a big enough cutout to use with larger markers in a small child's hand.

These are great quality and would highly recommend for the kids that loves to draw!

The set comes with 24 translucent stencils, about the size of a 4x6 index card. They are made of thick plastic that will stand up with a lot of use. There are a few stencils that you look at and wonder for a few seconds just what exactly it is, like the cornucopia, but fortunately these are rare. Most of the stencils are great and easily recognizable. The designs are even labeled with a description in case you have any problems figuring them out right away.The stencils are categorized so that all the planes will fit on one card, flowers on another, etc. Here are the categories included in this set:- Uppercase alphabet (split on 3 cards)- Birds- Cars- Cats- Clowns- Dinosaurs- Dogs- Fall- Family- Farm Animals- Flowers- Houses- Numbers (1-10 with plus, minus, multiply and division symbols)- Spring- Summer- Trains- Trucks- Underwater (Animals)- Whales- Winter (split on 2 cards)I'm very happy with the variety and quality of the stencils in this set.Note: The box and stencil colors I received are different from those pictured. When I was a child, I had these awesome stencils that I would always play with at my parents' business. Over the years, they somehow disappeared. My children are now at the age where they would enjoy some stencils, so I began my hunt, but I kept coming up short! All of the stencils that I found were either cheap and flimsy or didn't have very many designs to choose from. I finally found these, and what a great product! My children (ages 2 and 6) have played with these for hours! There are so many different shapes, animals, and designs to choose from! The carrying case is also a big selling point. It has enough room that my children can fit a little pad of paper and some crayons in there with the stencils, so that they can have a nice portable stencil "kit" to take places. This is a timeless kit for any house or classroom. I teach 4th grade, and I plan on borrowing it from my children to take in on fun days.

Great stencils and a nice variety

There's a good variety in this stencil pack and the plastic seems durable. Other reviewers have mentioned that the alphabet is divided and is on three cards, but I want to add that it's divided onto cards of three different colors. The first part of the alphabet is on green plastic, the second part is on pink plastic, and the third part of the alphabet is on blue plastic. (The numbers are also on a blue card.) The case that contains the stencils seems durable enough and there's room for a few more small stencils in it. The container has a handle which was detached from the container when I received it; the handle doesn't seem to work with the container but that's not much of a problem for me.

Los stencils son buenos en relación al costo; sólo la caja en la que vienen no funciona del todo bien el sistema de abrir/cerrar.Pero si los recomiendo para los niños que les gusta dibujar.

Mis hijos las amaron, no son muy grandes pero los dibujos quedan al tamaño de los cuadernos escolares. Muy bonitas y con variedad de figuras.

A mis hijos les encantaron! Juegan mucho con ellos tanto en el pizarrón blanco como en sus cuadernos, además han sido útiles al hacer su tarea, chequen el tamaño ya que son pequeños, como la mitad de una hoja carta ;)
