Keychain or fifth pocket beast
Sure, it's a tiny knife, but of all the keychain-sized blades I own, this one is the mightiest. I've been a fan of Cold Steel's triad lock on bigger blades; it's just as robust on this little guy. The blade is incredibly sharp, perfect for opening packages, cutting threads, and even small prying jobs. Slips into a watch pocket completely for times when I need to be discreet about having a knife. My normal keychain knife has been a Kershaw Cinder; that knife has a more reinforced area to attach to a key ring than this one, but the Micro Recon is easily the better overall knife. If you like having a choice of what size knife you EDC, or like me, tend to carry a larger blade and a small one for different tasks, this is a good choice for something small.

Tiny tactical - good value budget knife
This is small, no pocket clip and comes with a keyring and is really pretty much the size of a key - but with the Tri-ad lock and the Cold Steel tactical design it's probably going to be the best knife for the keychain you can get at a budget. Currently at the lowest price it's ever been according to an Amazon price tracker so I'm very happy with this purchase, it's replaced a cheap keyring utility blade I've been carrying and I know I'll never be without a decent knife, even if it is small. I put a quick release ring on the keyring it came with (too thick for the hole on the knife) so if I'm wearing pants with a coin pocket it can be there for faster access.

Mighty micro totally worth it
When I got this I kinda bought it to be a toy letter opener I did not expect this micro knife to be the same quality as its big brothers. At first glance I thought oh a cute baby knife. I opened it and man it was sharp, the lock was just like other cold steel knives and no wiggle on the blade and blade was totally centered. I am very impressed with this knife quality. Great for a kids first knife or a key chain knife but honestly the blade hold well in the hand and I’m glad I took a chance on this little micro knife. Very pleased I bought this. I put its big brothers recon 1 and placed it next to it and the quality is the same but micro.

Best bang for buck but don't be fooled.
I'd give this knife a 5 stars, if it weren't for the misleading claim of CPM-s35vn steel, it's actually a lower grade steel, as seen in the picture 4034SS, however don't let this deter you unless you are a metal snob, I'd prefer vg10 however they make up for this soft steel by giving a thick spine and wide angle on the tanto point, which by design is to reinforce the tip, so I'm confident it'll hold up well for it's size as a mini EDC knife. I bought this to replace a Dragonfly 2 Spyderco. And while Spyderco is definitely leagues ahead in quality and design, Cold Steel is probably best when it comes to getting something nearly flea market prices with better quality and design. I love this knife. And hope to update this after I've put it through some abuse. It's a little awkward having such a wide angle chisel (tanto) on the blade. The locking mechanism is solid. it would be great if it had a clip but I'm just going to make a lanyard for mine out of Paracord. For below $30, I'm amazed by the quality. Cold Steel does well at budget and quality. The opening mechanism is smooth, very very little blade play once locked open, . Texture on the handle feels comfortable. Also one last thing, this knife is Tiny. And fits a surprising amount of blade in a small package. The GrivX handle material feels slightly more rigid than the FRN, honestly FRN, GrivX and Zytel are essentially the same basic components (Nylon and Fiberglass) that being said. My experience with the abuse my Spyderco went through was exposed to corrosive chemicals, oxidizers and solvent's not to mention being run over a fee times. It's the same kind of plastic used in Aerospace technology and automotive components that need to hold up to strain from different directions and fluctuations in temperature while retaining there shape. in a knife handle, unless you're taking a belt sander, blowtorch of drill to it it's going to last. The Spyderco Dragonfly 2 is a better knife however it's 2-3 times the price, This little baby however is still an awesome little tool meant to be used rather than displayed, You won't be disappointed. It's also fairly sharp and ready right out the box. Just keep in mind it's not much bigger than a mini bic lighter closed. Actually smaller than the pictures impression. That said it is a great keychain knife of you at a little hoop for a ring or lanyard instead of the one Iit comes with, see updated picture.

Handy and sharp
I have been a fan of Cold Steel.I had this before but misplaced it, so I got it again. It feels little lighter and has a different texture.Blade is 4116 Stainless steel but it seems OK for a daily use.

Not as Described
Like many other reviews have stated, the biggest issue with this knife is the inaccurate product description. The listing claims the blade is made of 4034 stainless steel, but it is actually 416 stainless steel.Secondly, the description mentions a belt clip, but there isn’t one. Instead, there’s a small ring for a keychain, but no clip to secure it to your belt or even the small pocket in your jeans.Lastly, the Griv-Ex handle feels like cheap plastic. It may be a durable material, but it certainly doesn’t feel like it.I returned this immediately.

Great very small knife.
This is a great small knife to carry if you’re going in places that don’t allow knives. You can put it behind your belt buckle easily. If you show it to security they might laugh and tell you it’s ok. But it is sharp so definitely worth having. I had one I lost in my motorcycle accident last year.
