Sweet, sweet knife. Huge bang for the buck.
Man, for a cheap imported knife, this thing is really impressive. Not a normal occurrence, but I happened to have been lucky enough to purchase 2 very nice knives this week. While at a local knife shop I picked up a Benchmade 583sbk at a killer price, fell in love with the second i picked it up and knew it was going to be my new EDC. Prior to picking that knife up locally I had ordered the Spyderco on amazon, there was a delay in shipping so it didn't get to me in the one or two day post ordering. Well, anyway, picked up that really sweet benchmade and thought the spyderco was gonna wind up in my tool box, but much to my surprise this spyderco was pretty much THE perfect EDC knife, even with out the Tanto blade I usually prefer. Just felt solid and like a quality machine. Super easy action, I have a really strong feeling that this will be my most used EDC going forward. Nice slim profile, love the texture on the g-10 grips, easy peasy one handed open and close, smooth as a babies ass action, just a quality knife. I would like to play around with it with some gloves on (that is an area that the Bench made rocked, It was pushing zero degrees out this last weekend and snow and ice in my area, I used it all weekend outside with gloves and the Benchmade rocked) given the nice thumb protrusion on the Spyderco I expect similar results.I plan on adjusting the pocket clip for a tip up carry, that is my favorite postion, and that leads to another win on the Spyderco side, it is set up to have 4 positions for the clip, so you can carry this thing any way your heart desires!! Grab it, this thing is one quality tool for the price point, yeah, its made in China, I imagine there are not a lot of sub $100 knives in this category that aren't. Saw a previous reviewer whining about that, but you'd have to be a fool to think other wise, and it is clearly stated in the description as well. I will update this after a few months of use, but honestly, it is really great bang for the buck!!

great knife, great price.
i have been carrying a pocket knife since i was a cub scout and after all these years i think this might be my favorite folder. for the price this is some serious quality. i have bought much more expensive gerber knives and this one blows them all out of the water.smooth blade open, secure lock and no blade play. razor sharp out of the box. within 24 hours of getting it i managed to cut my finger on the serrated blade by accident. i was not sure about the thumb hole when i ordered it but i am now a fan. your thumb rotates in the hole providing a smooth easy open that follows the natural motion of your thumb.the knife is a good size for medium or larger hands.while it is made in china, Spyderco has amazing quality control. it feels like a USA made knife at half the cost. the steel is not as bad as some people say. for an everyday use knife it is an ideal steel ,holds an edge, sharpens up quick, and is strong. chrome moly vanadium stainless steel is often used in hand tools like wrenches so this blade is clearly meant to take a beating. if you are looking for a $150 knife then buy a $150 knife. but i can guarantee 99% of the population could not tell the difference in steel.overall i am very satisfied with this knife. i liked it so much i bought another with the full spyderedge blade. eventually i will drop the cash to buy a $200 spyderco made in America but for every day carry the Tenacious is perfect.

Hard to open, hard to close
it's a beautiful knife but opening and closing requires a lot of interaction with the blade and that is a no go for me due to the moisture transfer to the blade. I'm sure with the proper technique it should be possible to open and close with one hand but I couldn't do it and the youtube videos I watched were more focused on the look, feel, and capabilities. It looks awesome in the photos and in your hand but it is not very practical for me. I thought the price was very reasonable and this was not a top contender in reviews I read but I think everyone should have one of this because it's just gorgeous looking.

Great daily carry knife.
For what Spyderco calls a budget knife, the Tenacious feels extremely well made. It arrived with a razor sharp edge, which is uncommon and welcome. The blade feels quite sturdy, and the pocket clip attaches firmly to the handle in four different positions for tip up or down carry in either your left or right pocket. The Tenacious uses a thumb-activated liner lock, which feels to be very, very sturdy. I can imagine some people having a bit of difficulty depressing it with one thumb. If you value being able to snap the blade open with a flick of your wrist (I can do this with most folders that do not have spring assist), this is not the knife for you. The blade is lightly weighted in comparison to the handle, and flicking it open thumb-free feels like an exceptional way to take up knife throwing in a hurry. The handle has a nice rough feel without being abrasive.Overall, I'm very pleased, but this knife is replacing a Columbia River Knife & Tool Co. Crawford Casper that was close to 16 years old. It's got some big shoes to fill. Overall, though, I'm very pleased with it so far, and expect to carry it for a long time to come.

Great quality for the money
Love my Spyderco! Keeps a sharp place even when I am literally cutting small branches with the serrated edge. Clip stays tight (which was a problem with other brands). I have had this knife over a year and use it pretty much daily and still love it
