Wasabi PowerBattery (2-Pack) and Charger for Panasonic VW-VBG260

I purchased this package for a seven day cruise to Mexico. I wanted to make a documentary type movie so I didn't want to miss anything. I also purchased one additional battery to make sure I'd be able to shoot all day and still have time to charge them all up overnight. As it turned out, I never had to use more than two batteries in one day.The camera was on all day for 10 days (we spent three days in San Diego before boarding our ship to Mexico) and I shot a total of 10 hours of video. It was great to have batteries that lasted so long so I didn't have to turn the camera off between takes. With the camera in standby mode it takes less than one second to be ready to shoot. Things can really happen fast on one of these trips so it's best to always have the camera on so you don't miss anything. Also, when in doubt, keep shooting as you can always edit later. You cannot go back and get more video later though. Thus a dependable source of power is very important.These batteries worked fantastically. The charge lasted as long as advertised and they were fully compatible with the camera. All battery information was available onscreen at all times and was always accurate. They also charged up fast so even if all three would have needed charging, there would have been enough time to do so before shooting the next day.The size of the batteries was good too. The battery that comes with this camera doesn't even fill the battery cavity and looks kind of mismatched. These batteries do extend out farther than the cavity, but not far enough to be a problem. In fact, because they add a little weight, it actually makes the camera feel a little more substantial and steady.This package also comes with a charger that works great and tells you when the batteries are fully charged. The extra charger was handy when used in conjunction with the camcorder charger as it permits charging two batteries at once. The car charger that comes with this is a nice addition, too. You just never know when you're going to run out of power and need to recharge on the go.[...]

This battery is oem and it is almost twice the size of the standard battery and yet the juice is just 50% more. It should be least 150% more to last my 32GB SD card. It will record just 3 hours and then goes flat while the standard size is 1hr and 52 mins.

As I completed my order for this package, I crossed my fingers hoping that everything I'd read about it would ring true when it arrived. And it did!The batteries are nearly identical to the Panasonic batteries. They are built very well, were recognized on the Panasonic charger that came with my HDC-SDT750, and worked just like the OEM battery when I tested them on the the camera.The charger is well made and has a flip out connector for A/C. I don't know that I'd need the card charger, but it's nice to have and as good as any other I've owned.I only recently "burned through" the first of the batteries from a full charge. It lasted several weeks with approximately 1.5 hours of recording (probably ~75% using the screen instead of the viewfinder) and the same in playback (hooked to a TV or computer). I recharged it and am now putting the second battery through the same process to make sure there are no surprises when I need it.Between the batteries that came with the package and the OEM battery, I have almost 8 solid hours of recording time using the screen, more if I use the viewfinder.Considering the whole package was about 65% of the price of one Panasonic battery that has the equivalent capacity of either of the TWO that are included with this package, I am blown away. I almost bought the single battery (same model as the ones in this package), but for $15 more, got the second battery and charging package.I will always look at Wasabi batteries first for any gear I have that can use them from now on.

Got these delivered in reasonable time. The batteries and charger appear to be well made and include a well thought out package. The charger itself has an led that changes color when complete. It is about 1/2 the speed of the Panasonic charger but includes a car charger. The batteries work well and show the time remaining - about double the original battery. Both my batteries fit slightly loosely - they shake ever so slightly. This has not affected performance, it just feels bad. Overall,a good package for the SD600.

THEY STARTED TO LOSE POWER WAY TOO EARLY

The HDC-TM900 uses the VW-VBN260 or VBN130 rather than the VBG260 or VBG130. The key slots on the bottom do not fit in the TM900 camcorder. Searching on TM900 camcorder battery suggests the VBG260 in the results. Again, VBG260 or VBG130 do NOT fit. I mistakenly purchase the Wasabi package.Wasabi desires 5 stars for offering a $39 valued package: 2-batteries, international plug, car adapter and charger.Panasonic and other manufacturers make money on accessories. If the OEM products were close to the price of generic replacement accessories, I would prefer purchasing OEM. However, I could not locate a generic battery for the TM900. I purchased one OEM VBN260 battery at the ridiculous price of $125.Compare $125 for one battery versus Wasabi's value package at $39.Further and contrary to manufacturer's claims of possible damage or malfunction, I have never had a malfunction of any product using a generic battery.Until OEM manufacturers price accessories reasonable, I will continue using suitable generic products or avoid products highly accessorized on items which should have been included with the product from the beginning.The profit on accessory manufacturers would serve consumers better viareasonably priced OEM products,backward compatibility on accessories of similar products and/orcross manufacturer compatibility and cooperation on products as a green initiative.
