Labyrinth The Adventure Game

This is an amazing set up, easy to learn, SIMPLE to play, and has a lot of replay ability. Great for all ages. It's wonderful for those wanting to get into D&D but not sure where to start, or even just a simple reasonable game for young kids wanting to D&D but aren't ready to dive that hard in. AND if they love the movie, the book will feel so much more fun.I've ran it three times with people and not a single one was the same round. It depends on your players, their cast and ideas, and how they think. Puzzle solving at it's best. Also the book itself is adorable.Sadly I can't finds any PDFs of the character sheets, so your players need physical ones, or need to print it out if they are at a distance. BUT thankfully, the sheet and stats are so simple if you just write it all down in a word doc it works well enough for online distance play.I have ran it with 2 people, 3 people and 5, and all three have ran well.

This book was an impulse buy for me. When I read about it on a gaming forum, I was attracted to it for a mix of 1980s nolstalgia, a love of all things related to Jim Henson creations, and I like to collect niche table-top RPG games, even if I never get the opportunity, or have the desire, to actually play them.I'm very happy with this book. It is a high quality and attractive book that if fun to page through. The rules are well-thought out, simple rules, which would provide an excellent introduction to tabletop roleplaying games.Everything you need to play the game is included in the book, including dice which are stored in a small container created by a rectangle cut into the pages. It would be nice if there was a strap or band to hold the book closed as I could see the dice falling out when you pull from a shelf or if you carry in a book-bag or backpack. If you do lose the dice, any six-sided dice will do. You don't need specialty or uncommon dice to play the game.While you don't need anything more than the book and dice to play, I do recommend going to their publisher's website and downloading and printing the free maps and character sheets. They are more convenient than writing your character sheets out by hand or displaying maps from the book.This game is appropriate for children yet still highly playable for adults. It is one of the few truly whole-family role-playing games.I highly recommend this game and think it would make an excellent gift to any fan of the movie or any game enthusiast. If you give as a gift, I would consider also buying some extra dice and preprinting maps and character sheets on some nice paper, perhaps a higher bond parchment-pattern inkjet paper, for a nice extra touch.

The boom is incredibly nice, cover feels great the pages feel great. The printing and illustration are top notch. The game itself is more narrative focused with a very "rules lite" feel to it. It is perfect to sit down with a group of friends for a game night or to introduce younger players to the TTRPG space. I would.highly recommend this product for anyone who is a fan of simple, fun, and narrative games. As well as anyone who is just a fan of the movie itself. The book itself is straight off the screen under the dust cover and would look great on a shelf even if you never played it.

I cannot tell you how much I love this book and this game. It is clear that no expense was spared to make this book feel special. Everything from the soft-touch cover that looks like the book from the movie, to all the original art decorating the pages, to three different ribbons to hold your place to DICE INSIDE THE FREAKIN' BOOK!This has quickly become one of my favorite RPG books of all time. It is lovely to hold, fantastic to read, easy to learn, and an absolute joy to play. It really digs deep inside of you and urges your inner child to join the fun! I will be following these game producers closely because whatever they make next, I want it.It is worth noting that the ruleset for this game is EXTREMELY SLIMMED DOWN. Some may find this to be a downside, but that could not be further from the truth. What that means is that you can teach this game (and therefore play this game) with anyone. Your kids, your not-so-interested-in-gaming friends, your extended family during a boring reunion, anyone!Read this book cover to cover once, get a feeling for all the different puzzles and encounters, and then you are set to play a whimsical adventure with absolutely anyone as long as you have your book (dice included).

This was definitely put together by fans who love the film and wanted to do right by it. Every little detail is so perfect, and I couldn’t stop smiling on my first read through of the rules. The paper and binding are high quality and it’s chock full of beautiful art from contributors as well as Brian Froud. I’m new to RPGs, but I’m excited to get my family and friends in on this one. It feels like a good, simple game to cut my teeth on.

Not too big a must for the TRPG gamer. It’s a great looking book, the dust jacket is an awesome repro of Ted CoConis’ poster and the cloth hardcover imitates the book from the film in appearance. Definite fan service.Right inside, my book was torn at the binding. Apparently this is a rare issue with seen hardback books. Shame because I was wowed with the cover and as soon as I gently opened the cover it split like I ran my finger along the groove roughly.The rest of the book is fine. The paper, illustrations, layout, and the glossy production photos of the movie in the back for some reason are all high quality.As for the game itself, I haven’t run it yet but I’ve read the rules and many of the scenarios. It’s nothing ground breaking or super unique that every nerd needs to experience at least once in terms of play. It doesn’t have to be though, it just needs to get its job done and it does that.

Just received and opened and this book is so detailed and such a fun RPG to play! Very well guided and a great start for people who have no experience! Also a huge fan of the film! The rules and instructions are so wonderful! Thank you!

This book is beautifully produced and would appeal to film fans who weren't even interested in playing the game.The game itself is extremely simple and a great way to introduced folks to the world of adventure gaming. The system may seem too simple to those familiar with RPGs but is full of ideas that could enrich almost any gaming session.

My daughter and I love Jim Henson's Labyrinth so when we saw this it was a must have. The book is beautifully detailed and delivery time was fast. Unfortunately the custom dice that should have been included were missing which is a little upsetting.
