will this fit a 1 5/8" hitch, or just the 2" ?

These are roughly ½ inch in size and would be barely visible on a hitch

Has anyone tried using these as part of fastner system for a jedi/sith cloak or cape? If so, how did it work out?

The pin in the back is not long enough for a closer. That pin can be snapped off and a larger pin super glued on. Epoxy works better
