nice addition to the grill
while this wont give the performance of a specialized smoker, it does add a slight smokey flavor to grilled foods. it fits perfectly in grill. the only thing is the large version is just a tad wider than a single grate, so dont expect to just lift a grate and drop it in. you wont be able to open its lid if you dont lift both grates either. so as long as you realize that you will have to either lift both grates or tilt it to get it into or out of the grill, you will be fine. i dont see that as a problem myself. it is still much easier to work with than the annoying cast iron box thing i had before. this fits right on the burner and heats up the wood chips quickly and easily.so far this has performed well. i soak wood chips in water, fill the box, and drop it in the grill before i light it up. it doesnt take long for that delicious smoky aroma wafts around the neighborhood. its worked well on all settings from low to high. i have no issues with any warping or twisting.i had taken it out & emptied it while cleaning the grill one day and forgot that i did. it was out in the rain for a couple days. that created some surface rust on the interior but nothing that i am worried about.even if it only lasts half a season, it is reasonable enough in price that i wouldnt mind buying another one. it works for what i want. i am happy with it and would recommend to anyone with a gas grill to add that hint of smoke to your grilled foods.

Good idea that almost delivers.
The concept is great, but this smoker attachment is awkward to use. The V-shape fits between two flavorizer bars on a Weber Spirit grill; add smoker pellets and then turn on the grill. So far so good. Unfortunately, the pellets can easily overheat and then catch fire which throws off the whole temperature control capability that is a key benefit of using a gas grill. I've tried dampening the pellets, I've played with the burner settings. I've tried using different quantitied of pellets... I still use it occasionally, but this continues to be a work in progress.

Paint burns off. But sturdy and works as advertised
Works as advertised. Painting it black was useless as the paint began to peel off on first use. You may want to get one unfinished instead.

Blistered, Burned, and Completely Unsafe – Avoid This Health Hazard
I bought this smoker box with high hopes of adding that perfect smoky flavor to burgers on my gas grill. While it technically did produce smoke, that’s about the only positive thing I can say. The so-called “nonstick” coating blistered, bubbled, and peeled during the very first use—releasing who-knows-what kind of toxic fumes and likely carcinogens directly into the food I was cooking. See the attached photo for the disgusting and disappointing aftermath. This isn’t just a cosmetic issue. When a product marketed for high-heat cooking can’t even handle normal grilling temperatures without degrading, it’s not just poorly made—it’s a legitimate health risk. I was appalled watching the paint sizzle and flake off like a dollar store toy left in a bonfire. It’s inexcusable that a product designed to be placed directly over burners would use a coating that clearly can’t withstand grill temperatures. Either the manufacturer didn’t test this product properly, or they simply don’t care. Either way, it’s misleading and downright dangerous. If you’re even remotely concerned about the safety of the food you serve your family, skip this one entirely. I ended up throwing this in the trash after just one use. A chunk of change wasted—and more importantly, a ruined meal.Amazon, this product should not be listed as safe for grilling. Shame on Charcoal Companion for selling such a reckless piece of junk.Note: Attempted to contact manufacturer, but this is a dead link.
