I thought hwo cool would it be to have a last ditch fishing kit. Pretty clever how it all goes together, grossly poor build quality. Ive used this 4 times now and its about a 20 minute set up. No instructions so youll have to figure it out but the pieces dont fit clean and dont stay locked. Because of the size yoru casts will only ever be about 25' and ive fed more tree fish and turtles than i have fish (but that prolly speaks to my ability which id rate as poor). Havent caught anythign yet (even though im using this in a stocked pond ..again my poor ability) and i figure i may have 2 or 3 more fishing tries to figure it out before its so degraded it will be unuseable. For the price it woulda been cool if it was a better quality but its not. Im going to look at other last dicth poles and be willing ot spend more. Once the pole is worthless i bet the reel will still have some legs on it though.

It came with bright yellow 6 lb test line, before I changed it out with 4 lb line I did some test casting in my yard with a 1/8 oz weight. The best out of 3 casts with the 6 lb line was 70', with the 4 lb line I got a whooping 105'! A 50% increase in distance! I knew it would make a difference but not that much.The drag is a little stiff but OK, not really designed to catch a 5lb Bass.

I like this rod even though it is a novelty item it works great cast good and so on it makes a great gift however I've been seeing on the comments people thinking it's a serious rod it's not think of it as a super super lightweight rod I recommend only going Creek fishing with this thing or at least targeting very small fish that it can handle the rod is very delicate and comes with a 2 lb line the max weight for the rod is 3 pounds before it snaps just as a heads up overall it's a great rod

Do not cast! With that out of the way. let us begin... upon opening, ditch all of the prespooled line and respool. If you dont you will be casting out a tight woven slinky with a weight and hook. Do not cast even after rwspooling. Just stand on a bridge or dock and drop the line. Reeling in from a distance will 40%of the time wreak havok and cause swearing as your line will turn to a birds nest around the reel.The pole itself is actually made well. It has a lot of flex--weird because i figured it was gonna be one of the stiff cheap poles.All in all id say buy it as a gag gift for your fisherman dad or bf or grandpa but definately dont buy it with serious fishing intentions. If the size is why you are buying it then find a extendable Eagle Claw or another name brand

I use alot of telescopic poles because I don't have alot of room to store them. This pole is awesome. It looks like a giant pen. I got the pen that comes with a spinning reel because of the numerous bad reviews of the spin cast reel version. The reel is small but holds its on. I might buy just to put in each car. The rod is sturdy and the sensitivity is great.

The reel is absolutely JUNK!!!! Drag is non existant or locked. You can not use any other reel but the one provided. The rod is interesting though. It would make a good backpacking rod if it accepted standard reels. Since I can not use any other reels, I'm returning it.

I love the rod.. but the reel is just absolute trash lol which I was very much expecting. I was hoping to use a normal reel but the holder slots are small. So I might either have to zip tie a normal reel on there or mess with the reel slot. All in all the rod is pretty decent, you might as well send it without the reel. The line kept coming out of the drag screw

The reel is amazing and works like a champ!! My suggestion to anyone purchasing this setup, change the line right of the get with some 2-4lbs test. The line that comes on it is way too heavy for the intended use and tangled right away. After switching the line, it worked flawlessly. The rod could be a little more well built, but gets the job done. For the price, this is definitely worth the purchase.
