I am aware that these masks and filter pads are really designed to protect the pulmonary system from dust particles and stuff like pollen but they must surely reduce the chance of contracting something more nasty too, even if they aren't actually able to ensure their prevention. There is no guarantee I suppose. Mine does seem well enough made and I appreciate the way the filter pads can be slotted securely into an internal cloth pocket of the mask so as to stay there unless deliberately plucked back out by hand. The mask is washable but that is obviously not the case with the filter pads, so it'd be best to order more of those as I had done at the same time I'd ordered the mask. If you want I suppose you could insert two filter pads at the same time but whether that action would increase protect of the respiratory system is very doubtful. I am also well aware that viruses and what-have-you can infect you via airborne contact with the eyes but, anyway, I think that having this mask is better than not having it at all.Eamonn

It covers the mouth and nose but it doesn't have any clamps for your nose, and bar that it ok, but now I've tried it it worse than I have said it keeps dropping off my face.. and the filter doesn't work, its flimsy and its two bit stitched together... on a filter..

We received our in late March and I've been wearing mine up to four times a week. These do not protect you from viruses, but if everyone wears one and keep their distance your helping to stop this virus from transmission. We publish so I visit our post office regularly and I'm in the medium to higher risk category, I can use them with no problem, but my partner who is in education wears hearing aids, which do not work well with these masks as the loop round the ears.

Good mask with a charcoal insert which can be washed. Can get very warm if used long term otherwise excellent.
