The best in town
Sod off with your briquetts! Lump wood all the way, some of the chunks in these bags are practically trees and burn wonderfully hot and more importantly clean.I have used these on the open BBQ as well as int he smoker! Great quality, my go to brand

Lights easily. Burns steadily. Low smoke levels. Creates too much ash.
Used in a Weber MasterTouch and a Kettle Joe.It lights easily - I use one or two of the Ecoblaze Natural Firelighters to get it going. It burns steadily - not the slowest not the fastest. It doesn't create much smoke (if your bbq is clean)It creates a more ash than any other charcoal I have used which is a pain in a kettle if you've got food you need to turn quite frequently.Lumps are of a good size, although I haven't got to the bottom of the sack yet; who knows what's waiting for me down there...Made in Latvia - when I bought this I go the impression it was made in the UK but looking back it doesn't say anything like this in the description so I think I got the impression from the packaging.

Hate to say it but....
I bought this product because of it's green credentials. The positives are that the charcoal lights easily and burns nicely, HOWEVER, The charcoal burns very hot and very quickly leaving your actual cooking window down to literally minutes before the coals become too cool for anything other than close quarter marsh mellow melting. For a family of 4 I would expect a bag of this size to last around 8-10 bbq's. This bag barely made 3 bbq's because i was constantly having to top up the coals as they burned out too quickly. Perhaps this charcoal may be better suited for bbq's where the airflow is highly controlled, like a big green egg or the like. I wouldn't know because i don't own one. I have a Weber kettle 57cm which is better suited for longer burning coals or briquets.

Don’t bother unless your cook it’s 1hr or less
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Lit well and got up to temp good. The temp started to drop after an hour, checked the coals and they had completely gone out. Use A Egg grill and this charcoal is the only one I’ve had issues with.
