Great but not compatible with Dolby digital.
The item is small and compact and works great. However there are 2 minor points to note. First, the unit needs power. This is provided by USB. Be sure your device offers this capability. Second, the device does not support Dolby digital. Make sure your TV offers the option to switch to 'pcm'. If it doesn't. Dont buy. If it does as mine does. Happy days....

Just what I needed.
I bought this to connect my deaf daughters listening device to my new TV that had only optical outlet. You can use both outlets (red and white and headphone) at the same time. My TV allows use of internal speakers and optical outlet side by side, so we can all watch TV at the same time,us using the TV internal speaker and my daughter with her listening device via this item. It's just what I needed.
