headlite review
This is a very good product,Ive seen other headlights with brand names that cost much more and they are not any better than this one.Quality of this light is good, very bright, easy to use and construction materials are not cheap, for the price your paying you cant find a better buy on a headlamp.I own three headlamps from two other companys and i gave 50+ dollars a piece for them and this light is the best one i own. Im going to buy another one if this one last up as well as it looks like it can. Over all product looks good, feels good on your head,is very bright, adjust beam easily, switch feels well made, product is made in china but looks like it should stand the test of time?Only time will tell.

lasted a month
It was lovely and bright for the first month, then progressively got dimmer until it simply did not work at all. That was all in the space of a month. I use very high quality rechargeable batteries with it, so batteries are not the problem.

Get two.
I ordered it on Friday received it the following day and was notified the minute the postman put it in the box by text. It was very inexpensive so I was a bit hesitant to buy it. Well I pulled it out of the box loaded it up with 4 AA batteries and alakazam it shines bright as can be. I work on aircraft during the night shift. My Eveready head set finally dropped dead and this was a shake of the dice buy. It is built sturdy, machined parts, a focusable beam and a water resistant battery pack. It has a high, low and strobe mode. The head band can go around ones noggin or on a safety helmet. it also can attach to a bike somehow. The down side is it did not come with instructions otherwise I would of gave it a five star rating.

Excellent headlamp
3 modes: Full power. Low power and Flashing/SOS signal for emergencies. For the price, this is an excellent source of bright light! It fits very comfortably on my head, can even adjust the position of the light to shine straight ahead of you or angle it more downwards. The Zoom In and Zoom Out feature are very well built for different situations whether shining up close or at far. There are two versions of this light. They look identical, but this one uses 4 AA's.Other than that, it's a very bright light with a bit of high speed flicker on the low power setting. Fully zoomed, the light shows as square, which is the shape of the emmiter. Wide beam is big and round and very even.

Why these units stop working
I have owned one of these for about a year. I would award 4 or 5 stars except the power control components are weak. The push button to control Hi/LO/Flash is not a switch but rather performs more like a mouse click. The small circuit card which interprets the clicks then provides power to the LED was not able to stand up to nightly use for about a half hour each night. The circuit card has two burned components on it, probably limiting resistors. This is why the light will not turn on at all. I will purchase a micro-switch and by-pass the circuit card to a hard switch ON/OFF configuration because I really like the light otherwise. After the control circuit began to act up the light came on once by itself. As you know the bulb can get very hot and could present a safety hazard. If your light becomes flaky remember to remove the batteries when storing for any period of time.

Left me stranded, alone, in the dark forest.
I was all excited to have my new headlamp... popped in some freshly charged AA's and headed off to my favorite trail. Then, 20 minutes in, *blip* it died. Never to come on again. I stumbled through the mud and tree roots for an hour to find my car, lead by the light of my cell phone. I've bought better and cheaper flashlights. Maybe I should duct tape a Maglight to this $25 head strap?
