Better than any other cocoa powder I have ever used. I have tried many different brands from around the world and I keep coming back to Valhrona. Once you open the container you will understand the loyalty I have to this particular product. The color is dark and decadent, in comparison other brands resemble brown chalk like clumpy dust. One whiff of Valhrona's pure cocoa powder will immediately lock in your senses to how chocolate should smell, smooth, rich, and devilishly divine. Give this incredible cocoa a try and you will never be satisfied by any other cocoa powder on your supermarket's shelves. When I bake it is a labor of love saved only for family and close friends on special occasions. Yes, Valhrona is pricier than other common brands but the results are priceless. I would have to drive over 100 miles to buy Valhrona from a store, so Amazon is my choice for purchasing. Just be sure you only buy product in it's original packaging; I recently purchased what was advertised as Valhrona in a clear plastic storage jar from a seller Amazon; when I received the product it wasn't Valhrona. Of course Amazon took care of this immediately with full refund and an investigation into this obvious attempt at fraud. Fortunately I was shipped the real Valhrona product the next day in time to bake a spectacular chocolate 4 layer masterpiece filled with buttercream and salted caramel for my husband's birthday.

Are you a chocolate connoisseur?? I am. I am a chocoholic who has found true love..with Valrhona cocoa. I will never cheat on you Valrhona, never again with those cheap, flat store bought cocoas. I will love you until I die. Our first kiss was unforgettable. You are deep, dark, luscious, full figured and so rich. I love you on my truffles, and in my cup of hot cocoa. I love your rich scent and colour. You are my everything.But seriously, this is the best cocoa powder I have come across in my chocolate adventures. It is creamy and dense with a good fat content, rich in flavor, aroma and color. It is so good that it stands alone...yes, I can eat it straight out of the container. It makes the best cup of hot chocolate that I have ever had. Willy Wonka would be jealous. I don't think that I will ever use grocery store cocoa again. This cocoa erased my memory of all that came before. It must be true love. Life is too short...give this one a try.

I received this item and it was packed perfectly and the flavor is the best I have ever used. I have used Pernigotti, sharfenberger, droste, and Ghirardelli and Hershey’s. And while there are recipes where a cheaper more available ccocoa like Hershey’s or Ghirardelli actually works. When chocolate is at the forefront of the dessert this is the standard in chocolate. The flavor is dark and rich, so if not used to you could back off a couple tsps in recipe, but it’s smooth and balanced and doesn’t have that acidic tang that cheap dark chocolate has. Also I saw bad reviews due to shipping issues and looks of product. Look who you are ordering from. Amazon now has you directly ordering fromValrhona. That is the only company you should be buying from and guarantee your getting the right cocoa. It’s worth every penny. Also! This is a large container of cocoa!

Since the pandemic, I haven't been able to find my old favorite cocoa powder (Scharffen Berger Natural Unsweetened Cocoa Powder) at any of the local grocery stores. When I resorted to searching Amazon, I decided to try Valrhona Pure Cocoa Powder instead. This cocoa powder is rich and flavorful and my brownies (Vegan Gluten Free Black Bean Brownies recipe by the Minimalist Baker) turned out super delicious. This cocoa powder was more expensive than my old favorite, but I got my money's worth and I will buy it again.

I got a box as a gift since I enjoy baking. I really did not know how big of a difference high quality cocoa powder would make. These are the best brownies I have ever had and I am never going back. This is my second box since I went through the first so quickly. Only drawback is that it is pricier, but if you're baking for a special occasion, I think this is worth the splurge.

Great flavor; better for chocolates or candy making. I used this in a red velvet cake and a peanut butter/chocolate/pretzel cheese cake and it was too rich - recommend for an intentionally rich/small portion application.

When my previous container of Valrhona ran out, there was no question as to what I should do: buy more Valrhona. It's the best I've tried. I purchased straight from Valrhona on Amazon, so there was no doubt as to the origin. It's more expensive than other cocoa options, but I think it's worth the upcharge. Give it a try if you're looking for something better than what you'll find in the supermarket.
