Dupli-Color MC206 Metalcast Automotive Spray Paint - Black Smoke Anodized Coating - 11 oz Aerosol Can

This stuff is amazing. I use it on alot of my automotive metals. I've even tried it out on 3d prints in the past with plastic adhesion promoter. I see some reviews where people say it runs too easy....yes it is thin because it has to be to give that shine from the metal or base coat. You have to be patient and dust it. If you miss a spot while dusting then just wait the ten minutes and dust it again. Do not spray a heavy coat! If your painting metal and it starts to dull out then once done painting, bake in the oven around 80-100 degrees for at least 30 minutes. The color will come back. It dulls easily with humidity or too much uncured heavy paint under the next coat. For instance, my red was turning a dull purplish. I finished painting and baked in the oven and the color came back better than ever afterwards. I highly recommend baking. It enhances the color and shine while making it more permanent. I also shoot gloss high heat ceramic coating on mine and then a color coat over the ceramic. It seems to withstand heat alot better. This stuff really is a good paint if done correctly. Just have patience with it is the key and bake it once done....do not bake plastic though lol. Idk you may be able to but I haven't tried that out. Ive posted some of my new pieces I've done. In the past I've painted exhaust pieces and still today, six months later, the color is still holding up well on a motorcycle exhaust.

Works fantastic on metallic surfaces; I would say this paint is more like a tint and is very thin, so apply in light thin coats until desired color/darkness is achieved. can use a metallic paint like gold or silver to make a surface have the required look it needs to really shine. I have used this for painting razor dirt bike frames and plastic, and used it for painting 3D printed helmets and props. My only complaints are that the paint will run very easily, its more like a tint so you need to apply in very thin layers. It also chips really easily, more so on metal surfaces than 3d prints. I have tried adding a clear coat to help prevent chipping but the clear coat makes no difference.

Way better than I suspected not a lot of reviews others do are accurate poorly admited or people may have skipped proper prep work for this product but this orange copper metalcast is freaking awesome I bought new wheels and painted them no non sticking issues the shine is absolutely beautiful. Easy to use with the proper prep well worth the dollars and the smell of the paint smelled good I love the smell of good paint mixed reviews only happen without proper procedures if didn't work for you it's not the paint product it's your actions if prep work is utilize correctly if skipped prep work your not going get the results this product promotes

I got this because of the dark red and metal look, and it does exactly that! Got a chrome paint as an undercoat to heighten the metal effect, then sprayed this on. I used it on my guitar amp's face plate. It is very suttle but looks awesome in the light. The only issues I had was that it seemed to take a long time to dry, and it still had some wets spots when I decided to place the painted piece on, and luckily the wet spots ended up being covered up by another layer from the face plate anyway. The last issue I had was the smell, BUT that is simply because it is not only an aerosol spray can, but it is also a DEEP RED, so the things used to make that color end up giving a very strong smell. I know this largely because Clay glaze in red smells horrible, and so does red toners for car paint, both I have a bit of experience with. I recommend getting a spray can handle thing, as the head of the can is quite small and you will get paint on you, but just be sure to either wear gloves, or use a handle. Overall great product! Where is the quality? I don't mean about the color, because the color is perfect. But why do I have to suffer through the fact that it will not stop spraying after i'm done? I had to yank the head off of the spray can to make it stop and even then, it kept spitting red paint everywhere. Amazing, perfect coverage, very beautiful bud.I don't need to get covered in paint when i'm using a spray can. I ask, where is the quality. I am literally typing this right now. As the can empties itself upside down without a nozzle on it, because it wouldn't stop spraying, but it also wouldn't stop spitting its paint out of it. I love the color. It coded perfectly. But I did not need to have my fingers covered along with everything else near me when I was trying to make it stop spraying. This is worse than 3m products. That literally stick to nothing but human skin. And ten years ago I would have spent half as much. I'm really really mad. But darn, the projects I was working on, look amazing.. I bought a second can that arrived yesterday. This can will not spray anything at all! If I could give zero stars, I would give zero stars. Thank you so much for and a half cans of paint that I cannot use.

I don't know if i got the wrong color or if this just low quality paint. I followed the directions fine, this is multiple coats on a metallic surface and it just looks red and not like anodized copper. It runs very easy but also dries quickly. Definitely not worth 20 bucks but its to late to go back now.

This brand of paint is unquestionably. One of the best. The coat is fantastic put it over a mirror silver and you won’t believe your eyes to finish is extremely hard. Doesn’t fade in the sun doesn’t get any discolouration even on the toughest projects like outdoor metal ornaments just about every other paint I’ve ever used and big brand ones. Can’t hold up these two and you don’t need to clearcoat go for it as is.

I did not expect that it would give me exactly the color I was looking for.. I used it to spray the RB26 engine hood.. but I hope that the dye will not fly away due to the heat. I have not confirmed yet, but in general the color was wonderful.
