Don't hesitate to buy
Excellent tool with great history and craftsmanship. For the price, however, I expected the fit and finish to be a bit nicer. The handle is slightly rough and can use some work; linseed oil and a light sanding. However; I am extremely satisfied with the axe head. The tool functions well and looks great doing it.

Im happy
Awesome ax. One minor problem: the bevel was so thin. it rolled while I was chopping some dead oak limbs from a tree. I removed most of it with a hone, bit its still visible. I'll have another go at it and try to correct it more. Disappointing but I suppose I should have stayed away from those hard limbs. Great balance and very solid ax. Great shipping and service too.

Rough start out the gate
The very first time being used it rolled the edge. I was limbing a spruce tree, not a hard wood. I expected better from a Swedish axe and for the price.

A wonderful tool
Wetterlings doesn't make this specific model anymore (model 120) but they make a model 124 which appears to be identical. The handle was a little rough and I had to give it a light sanding and then I treated it with linseed oil to keep the moisture in the handle so the head won't loosen. It would have been nice if it had come from the forge this way. Otherwise, it is a beautiful axe. I have used it a lot. It seems to hold an edge well and to be well made. I am very happy with it. I use a coarse/fine whetstone on it after every use.
