Psalms of the Jewish Liturgy: A Guide to Their Beauty, Power, and Meaning

I am a Christian and this book was recommended reading for an upcoming Academy of Spiritual Formation in the Psalms. But rather than simply reading the book I incorporated the suggested Psalms into my frequent devotions and Lectio Devina. It is very enriching to prayer the Psalms on an almost daily basis. I recommend the spiritual discipline to any person of faith.

I always wanted a guidebook to follow that was put together well for reading the liturgy Psalms during the week. I have been blessed immensely by Rabbi Miriyam Glazer's teachings of the Psalms in this regards. The place where I once was a member never had morning services. I feel this book is a gift from God as it was exactly what I have always wanted and there it was on Amazon when I least expected it. I couldn't wait for it to arrive by mail, so I bought the Kindle version. What a joy! Thank you Rabbi Miriyam. You did a beautiful job in writing this! Thank you Amazon for making it available!

I am not Jewish and I do not know the Jewish liturgy or Hebrew and yet I was completely captivated by this book. The author is a woman, a scholar, a rabbi, a talented writer - and clearly deeply in love with the psalms. This is a book I will turn to again and again.

This is simply a beautiful book; the Psalms and their special place in the Jewish liturgy. Rabbi Glazer provides a joyous, personal, and insightful foundational explanation to each group of Psalms as they occur throughout the Liutugies of the Jewish year. I have come to understand "Adonai" in a profound and deeply personal way. He is here, and ever caring, watchful, and most of all loving. I bought the Kindle version last year, and now it is a Joy to own this book! I can't begin to tell you how much I've been blessed by this beautifully written Guide by Rabbi Miriyam Glazer. Toda Raba!

Highly accessible with excellent discussion of the Liturgical Psalms. I recommend buying this book. This is not a reference for ALL Psalms, but, as the title states, it is a great reference for Jewish Liturgy.

When having meditation time, this book is useful. Gives day to day readings and additional passages.
