My orchids are sooo happy.
I used up the whole bag of this mix repotting 4 of my phaelenopsis orchids 3 months ago and now they’re doing pretty well. They’ve been growing new leaves, spikes, buds, and one of them even formed a cuuuuute keiki! I guess my plants are just very happy with this orchid mix. ;)

Soak beforehand
I used these to repot my orchids. It's great potting soil. I would recommend that you soak it overnight in water so that the potting soil is better prepared to absorb. It's extremely dry as it arrives. Otherwise, it's great.

So far so good.
My orchids have not complained. They remain healthy and are blooming again this year. I've had lots of pets but orchids fit my requirements best at this point. No poop to deal with. No "pet fee" to pay. Sure, they don't jump up on you when you get home or gaze at you adoringly when they see you but, they're attractive, don't shed and know how to "stay" instinctively. All in all, a good choice for older folks who live alone and can accept their circumstances without becoming despondent. I recommend the product.

Highly recommend
Replanted one of my hardware-store bought mini phalaenopsis in this from sphagnum because of root rot. I had to give her a major root trim because of the extent of the rot and I was worried the major root cut + replanting would be too much for her and she would go into shock. It's been over two weeks and my orchid loves it! Her leaves are firm, dark green, and perky. Her aerial root has doubled in size and she even has a new leaf growing. My one complaint is that this mix seems to dry out faster than other bark mixes I've used. I counteract this by adding some sphagnum on top of the pot to increase humidity (in addition to their morning misting, of course) and not completely dumping out the water tray every time I water. Leaving a little bit of water in it increases the life of the moisture in the mix, but not enough to be too wet.

Happy orchid baby
My orchid loves this. Arrived fresh, no mold or other issues. It is obviously way better quality than the stuff my plant baby was sold in, instead of what looked like some sort of coarse paper shreds mixed with potting soil, this stuff is actual bark and such. So don't freak out if you get 'chunks' and such. The combination really works out. Easy for my orchid's roots to act more natural. I made sure not to pack it in the container and I used a long narrow stick to open an air route on each corner to help moisture not stay trapped inside too long (it's a tall container and glass). Fed the baby with Miracle G. after re-potting and it was amazing how fast it is perking up. So far, so good!

Huge pieces! Not good
Normally I am just too lazy to leave a review, however, this medium has irritated me so much I felt obligated to warn others. There are pieces of bark in this bag the width of my hand! If you are old enough to remember silver dollars then you have a frame of reference. It might work alright with 8" or 10" pots but I don't have that much growing space. The medium holds so little water that I have to water my phals every other day. Annoying! I am waiting on mew medium and will immediately repot the poor little fella suffering in this media.

Coarse and could use some more moss
I have 6 orchids at home and half are in a bark mix and half are still in the grocery store pots. My bark mix was too coarse and doesn't hold water and my moss mix holds too much water. I didn't want to shock the plants by moving them from something that holds water to something that dries out daily so this was a great in between. Well turns out this doesn't hold water either. It needs a little more moss. I'm still soaking my plants almost daily or every other day to keep them wet. A great price and a bit of an upgrade from my last purchase but still not quite what I was expecting for a moss mix
