I have read the reviews on here stating that this cable does not charge. Because the people on Amazon aren't always card carrying IT professionals or Geeks, I take reviews with a LARGE grain of salt. However, I am here to say that this cable WILL CHARGE YOU TABLET when it is plugged into a AC or DC charger. If you plug your Asus Transformer or Transformer Prime into your laptop or desktop's USB port (be it 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0) and expect a charge, you are going to be disappointed. A USB port does not have enough voltage to charge a tablet like it does a smartphone. I use this cable to power my tablet via the 12v outlet in my car and to sync with my work computer. This cable works like a champ and is a great buy.

---PROS.---1.--Cable as described and even being a cheap no brand product...IT WORKS!!!2.--When connecting directly to USB COMPUTER, you can synchronize and transfer files but it doesn't charge because the USB computers have not enough power but the wire is OK. Not even the original wire can charge it from the computer.3.-- When connecting directly to USB WALL CHARGER, it charges the ASUS perfectly. I used the original Asus wall charger. When connecting to the dock it charges both (KEYBOARD AND TABLET AT THE SAME TIME).4.--My original Asus cable is OK but I bought this second cable because if the original USB cable of ASUS TRANSFORMER PRIME get spoiled... it is very difficult to find another one if I am travelling and if I am at home... I have to wait several days (and I can not use my tablet meanwhile). For just $ 5.55 I can continue using the tablet. If the wall charger get broken... it is very easy to find another one anywhere in the world (just be sure it has enough output power, the Asus Transformer requires a lot).---CONS.---1.--The 3.3 ft. (1m.) long was exact as described, I would prefer it LONGER but it wasn't available so I bought this. I recommend buying it LONGER, at least with 5 ft. If not...this is OK if you are not to far from the plug. My original Asus cable is 5 ft. long (1.5 m.). I use the 3ft. one just to charge it and the 5ft. one if I need to work while charging.

I bought this cable because I had issues with my TF-201 where it wouldn't boot. For a while I thought it could have been the battery not charging and I had other power bricks that accept USB (not to mention a PC). I bought this cable because in any event I wanted a spare. It works fine. The USB-end has blue inside and I'm not sure if that means this is USB 3.0 compatible?All things considered I'm happy with this purchase, only item worth noting is that this cable may be nearly a foot shorter than the original that came with my tablet. And the issue with my tablet not powering on wasn't due to the cable, but an issue that required warranty repair of the tablet.

Can not be used to charge tablet or keyboard docking station.I have worked in IT for many years now and have supported devices both large and small. The replacement cable that was sent to me is not the same as the cable that came with the Asus Transformer Prime. The device-end connector of the original cable contains about 20 pins top and 20 pins bottom. The replacement cable sent to me contains only about 13 pins total. My AC adapter/transformer has been tested and works properly. (I took my tablet to a local retailer and tested my tablet, docking station, and AC adapter using the cable from their display unit, and everything tested 'working'.)Other reviews of this item state that you can not charge your tablet from a "USB" port wether from a computer or USB hub. This is correct because standard USB only provides 5 volts. The AC adapter that comes packaged with the Asus Transformer Prime provides both 15 and/or 5 volts, depending on the connector pin configuration of the cable you are using.I suppose it is possible the seller here has different cables mixed in the batch, and some buyers either get lucky or unlucky. You can take the chance of getting a working cable. However, if you are like me and need a replacement FAST...I would not take my chances on getting lucky.

Unlike the cables you may have used for an Apple or cell phone product, this USB data cable does not offer any power support unless you use an AC/DC adapter with significant charging capacity. (Not a small plug-in for a USB cord, such as an iPhone plug.) I am waiting for a replacement AC/DC adapter from ASUS directly, and until I have the ability to charge my tablet, I cannot speak to its reliability to appropriately sync with my computer.Before you purchase this product, please make sure you have an appropriate adapter, if you hope to charge your ASUS tablet.

Not a lot to say about this other than it does what it's supposed to do. Seems well made, is long enough, solid connectors and is much less expensive than an Asus original cable! I Recommend it!!!

I buy it because the original one stop working so I could not charge the device, but the original cable also work as connection cable for the PC, this new cable does not work for connection to PC, only for charge the device. The original cable is not very good and this is not better, the plastic parts look quite fragile and the conectors were not well glued.The packet arrived on time so everything else has been good.
