First, yes the tray is a separate purchase than the tower. That was not my problem.My disappointment was that the bottom fold out flap was too short to correctly function as a propelling ramp for the dice to leave the tower. That is, the flap was short enough that it could and would just hang straight down such that dice would often just land and stack up at the bottom of the tower where the results could not be seen. If the flap was just a 1/4 inch or so longer, it would be too long to hang straight down, and as such it would have held at an angle to be the exit ramp when the tower was assembled.I tried using extra dice under the flap to hold it just a bit at an angle. I also tried adjusting the magnetic support back to put the tower at a slight forward angle. Neither option worked. I saw one review here is using the back support flap under the exit flap which maybe was just enough to prop up the flap in that user's case. However, without the flap used as a back support, mine would fall over backwards. The gap is also more than just the support's width in my case.I also had situations where dice got stuck inside the tower on the diagonal flaps if rolling more than a few dice at a time. I could see this happening often if a larger, combined attack/defense roll was done for kickstarter dungeon crawl games like Massive Darkness or other CMON type dice chuckers.Overall, I really wanted to like the tower. It seems like a great design. They just made the bottom ramp flap too short to have the dice tray or table hold it out as a ramp. The search for a good yet quiet tower continues.

I wanted an inexpensive dice tower that was quiet and would fold flat. This is exactly that. It rolls a handful of dice with no problem.As stated in the description, it does not come with a tray (though you can buy a matching one separately.) I just used a tray I already had. You could also use the lid of your game as a tray. There's a flap you could use to attach it to a box, but my tray was too thick for it to attach. But the tower stands up by itself with no problem. I tried using it without any tray and that worked fine too. The dice don't travel too far.With the magnets this is easy to fold into position, and also easy to lay flat for storage. I've thought for years about buying a dice tower, and this is perfect for me.

I ordered this thinking the tower and tray were together. I know they are sold separately (why?) but the picture made me think they were sold as one product. And for $20!? I’ve bought both pieces together before at a game store for that price. Had I known I was only getting half of what I thought it was, I would’ve looked elsewhere. Change your picture or clearly state that it’s only the tower

It's sturdy enough, feels good, and sounds are dampened. It really does it all quite well while folding.Unfortunately, there's one flaw. The tower has no good design to propel the dice from the tower, often resulting in dice just landing at its base. This makes it hard to read and retrieve. There's a flap at the bottom but no mechanism to keep it at a stronger angle so it just falls a bit flat.Keeps this from otherwise being a 5 star product.

Pros: it's a lovely color, it seems to roll the dice well and it's easy to put together and store.Cons: it's kinda chincy feeling and even though it's easy to put together, it's not super sturdy, but it was cheap.

Pretty but a bit flimsy. It is easy to setup, but the dice tend to jump out. And the tower itself can fall over/come apart

it's very small and doesn't hold it's shape well. was hoping that getting a folding one would save space but I would just spring for a small one instead because this doesn't do it for us

This one is much better than I expected. I wanted a more affordable and portable dice tower. I don't like the plastic ones because they don't work with metal dice and are loud, and I would rather they not be clear. This perfectly fit the bill. It folds well and the perfectly placed magnets hold nicely. I added a photo of it in my Titanshield Magnetic Hexagon tray which I find works better than square ones for them to roll out. As other reviews noted there is no tray like in the pictures, for the price this is understandable and many people have trays already. I found other reviews also mentioned they either had the dice fall straight down or not properly rolling out. For mine I had to move the back pannel under the tower (as shown) so it props up the exit angle part. The dice get stuck about 1 in 30 rolls. Try playing with that even in a tray like I have. Lastly just make sure to fold the insides the right way when you are done to avoid damage. Already recommended it to a friend!

Does not come with the tray! Every photo shows that it does and admittedly it says it in the description but when every photo has it pictured with base it is easy to forget or miss that. The tower itself is nice. Folds easy is magnetic to stand. To really make sure customers know there is no base there pictures should show no base and also show it folded flat so you know what you are getting.

La tour ne vient pas avec le plateau et ce n’est indiqué nulle part. Les photos sont fallacieuses...
