Godox R1 Round Full Color RGB Led Video Light, CRI 98 TLCI 97 Accurate Color, 2500K-8500K Adjustable, 14 FX Lighting Effects, with Music Mode, OLED Display, Magnetic Quick Installation (Silver)

This review is based on me using it on Twitch and YouTube for videos. I was looking for an RGB light for my twitch stream to give my stream a little color. On top of that, I do YouTube videos. on YouTube I would pair this device with my Sony a6500 since it comes with a mount. Great for vlogging in low light situation.For my Twitch and use it as a background to give some color like you see on some of the more famous twitch stream. I’m top of that the light is bright enough for it to be your key light.The one thing that despite the stand out from the rest of the other LED light that I have purchased is you can actually plug it into a power pack and still have it on. I know you’re thinking that it should work like that out of the box but some of the other LED lights that I have gotten in the past you cannot power or charge it while you are using it.In summary, this light alone can act as your key light for your live stream and is portable enough for you to take on the go for vlogging.

There are a few RGB pocket lights at this price point, but this one is better in my opinion for a few reasons.1. It's round, so provides a nicer falloff and vignette, especially when used to light a background2. It's magnetic, so can be stuck to metallic objects3. It has a dome diffuser, rather than a flat diffuser, which is more useful in my opinion4. It can use accessories like barn doors, snoot, etc from the Godox AK-R1 kit5. It comes with a mini tripod6. It comes with a tilting mountApart from that, like all Godox products, it's very easy to use, and all the built in effects are quite useful. You can do a lot of fun stuff with these lights, especially if you have 2-3 of them.

I purchased this light in order to take a look at the quality and to see if I could use it as a portable continuous light system in my small mobile kit. I must say I am impressed with the quality of the light and the fact that it includes an AK-R11 Dome Diffuser which is a nice touch, however I did find the brightness to be a bit under powered. Nevertheless, this is still an impressive product. I own several sets of Godox/Flashpoint strobes, softboxes, as well as the V1Speedlight. This is another great product from Godox but might be just slightly under-powered for my use case, nonetheless, it is still appears to be a great product. I will put it through the paces to see how when it works and holds up and post an update if there are any issues. I look forward to testing it out further.

The compact design is perfect for on the go. The R1 came with an adapter so that you can fit it right into your hotshoe on the camera. It also came with plenty of Velcro pads so that you can stick it where you need it. 10/10 love it!!

I bought this planning just to use it with my phone, but with the lighting modifiers kit and a mini tripod, it gives me such effortless, portable control over lighting that I use it for 90% of the photos I take with my DSLR. I only wish it was a little bigger and that I had two more of them! I like continuous lighting, and I adore the versatility of this little light. The shape also makes for softer light fall-off. I don’t have any criticisms.

this thing is cool - it gets pretty bright, BUT its not perfect by any means. I like the build quality its very solid feeling but at the same time id be afraid to drop it, SEEMS like it wouldnt take very well to the shock damage. On the not so bright-side of things (depending on how you look at it) this product DOUBLES as an equivilant to what it feels like to put a hot-massage-rock to your forehead! This thing Gets HOT - GRANTED - I had it on a higher brightness setting, for no long that a 20-30 minute period, but im not kidding. I was curious enough to put it to my face (because why not) and I wouldnt be able to hold it there for any longer than maybe 2 seconds.. sadly im going to try another product to see how it compares against this item and if it doesnt over-heat as this one does, then I'll have to return. gb
