Not useful when input is from (most) charge controllers.
I liked this item until it started shutting down every day for a few hours around noon. Why? I was feeding it from a standard charge controller that was hooked to battery and solar panel. When the sun was high the charge controller would do what they generally do -- output the solar panel voltage (16.7 V in my case) rather than 12 V from the battery. Unfortunately, this unit's input voltage range stops at 15 V and it shuts itself down. After determining this, I researched and found other devices that can take up to 20 V input. Bummer.
