A bulky home security system can be an eyesore. Adding to that stress is hard wire installation permanently altering the aesthetics of a room, door or window treatment. With its wireless connectivity and fully concealed platform, however, the iON Security Plunger is a door security sensor that finally eliminates these pesky inconveniences. A captive magnet within the Plunger activates a reed switch when the plunger is depressed.

Connection to system unstable
Keep losing connection randomly and have to bypass. Happens with multiple sensors.

Very Good Range
Easy to install. Programming was a bear but not the fault of the plunger. Range is very good and exceeded what I thought it could do. I have installed two on a detached garage and workshop and they both have worked perfectly.

be sure you have the correct "model"
the description for this product is very misleading. it indicates it will work with varying receivers, which probably will, but after talking with tech support, i discovered that this is NOT the correct item for my receiver. I need another model. The description of this item should be refined to indicate such. it's as simple as "what color do you have". What royally upset me was that when trying to refund this and purchase another, I have to wait 48 hours for the manufacturer to review my issue with the product. So, given I don't know if I'm going to have to pay for a return, I'm not ordering which further delays installation.got the RMA and they charged me for the return. DEF not buying another one. Very upset with the handling of this case when it's the description that is the problem.

Works fine till you have to replace a battery
Purchased three of these to be used by a DSC wireless security system and installed into wood door jambs. Worked great for 6 years. Had a trouble light that a battery was becoming weak, so I purchased three new, expensive, batteries to replace the old ones. Couldn't get the units out of the door jamb. I had to destroy them to remove them. Over time, the wood must have swelled around the housing. Now the door jamb looks like s***. A 3 minute job is now a half day job sanding, priming, painting, plus the cost of new plungers. This is just to replace a battery? Will try to find the surface types to replace these damaged units.
