Put a portrait lamp over an armoire, on/off with door
The media could not be loaded. Did this a year or two ago and it works fine each day. Have an armoire that always has been hard to see into. Repurposed a three-bulb portrait lamp to light the cabinet. Not using middle bulb - too bright. Much caution if you're not handy. Mounted lamp way on top. Pilot holes needed. With left door open and right door (switch side) closed, held switch inside and pressed it forward to the right door until it clicked, ie, light off. Marked the wood with yellow wax marker. Drilled a half inch hole behind yellow line. Took a new regular extension cord and cut it a foot from the three-outlet end. Stuck both the long and short ends of the cut wire down through the hole in the cabinet top. It was unwieldy reaching up kind of inside the cabinet, but stripped the wires and attached them to the four terminals in the switch. Pay attention to keeping neutral and hot wires consistent. Aligned switch in front of yellow mark. Marked mounting screw holes and drilled pilot holes. Reassembled and attached switch, feeding extra wire up the 1/2 inch hole. On top of cabinet, lamp plugs into extension cord end like it would anywhere and long end drops behind outside of cabinet to outlet.

Happy so far, little fiddly to install
A little weird to install with the two part design. I used 16/2 brown speaker wire (which is as big as you can use) and you have to cut out a section of the switch housing for the wire to pass through. Don't know why they didn't mold it with an opening.Because of how small it is one of your connection leads needs to be a little shorter to fit. However once installed it works well. I installed on a bifold closet door using a short flat piece of aluminum stock as the actuator (took a while to figure out how to make this switch work with this type of door). We'll see how long it lasts, if it fails I will update the review.

Reliable operation and relatively easy to install
Compared to other door switches sold on Amazon, this one is much better quality and reliability. It operates flawlessly and has a positive click action that indicates when it is opened or closed. I mounted it near the hinge side of a closet door. I will say that it is bigger than some others. The mounting is very straight forward. Wiring for the 12 volt, 18 gauge wire in my system was fairly easy, but the screws on the terminals will fall out if they are turned out enough to let you wrap the wires around the screws. The terminals do seem very secure. I needed to cut a bit of plastic with a wire cutter to allow the wires to come out from the terminal area. This was no big problem, but good to know. I measured the resistance when closed and found it to be extremely low and consistent. Overall a good value and very reliable compared to some others.

DIYer approved, quick install
I found these switched to be exactly what I was looking for for the storage room project I was working on. Just attach some wires and place the switch where it will open the circuit when the door is closed and close the circuit, turning the light on, when the door is open. Keep in mind there is an audible "click" when the switch is engaged, about the same volume of a pull chain light. Just FYI. Just read the directions and become familiar with the pieces before you start the install, and be sure the power is shut off. Safety first. Overall I think anyone with even basic home improvement skills could use these and find plenty of uses.

Awesome switch, very small.
I installed thus switch to operate 12v cabinet lighting in my camper. I have 1/2" overlay cabinets. I attached these to the inside face frame. They work great and are pretty small. They also have several mounting options.

Good switch, could be even better
I bought these to install in our residence to have automatic lighting when opening the doors of our pantry and supply room. The switches appear well designed and manufactured and seem to work well so far, except for two deficiencies which caused me to downgrade them from 5 to 4 stars:1. Considering they are rated at 2A and 250V, would be nice if they accepted Romex wire. They don't, which limits their installation options.2. One would expect oblong/oval mounting holes to allow fine adjustment of the contact point with the door. The holes are round and you need to be careful to map out the installation position ahead of time. I used a an electrical continuity meter to determine at what point the switch makes and breaks contact (about 2/3 of the way in).
