Classic book in an affordable soft cover
A great gear design book that was missing from my library. Excellent, easy to understand methodology. A must have for reverse engineering older machines.

Hardback vs Paperback
I was a little disappointed when I received the book. I was expecting the green HARDBACK book pictured, but instead received a gray paperback book. (I will concede that that the description clearly says PAPERBACK). It has the same contents, just not as sturdy as a hardback book would be.

Great for quick reference
I work for a gear company and often reference this book for formulas. Good layout makes it easy to find basic formulas like one to increase pinion diameter to avoid undercut. Try finding that in the Machinery's Handbook. Oh, it's there, but it's not nearly as easy to work with as this book. Downside, I wish it had a section on involute splines.
