JR Home Super Soft White Down Duvet Cover Insert Alternative Comforter, King

I'm from the UK and using a duvet is commonplace over there unlike here in the States, where I found it commonplace to use the more traditional layered effect of sheet, blankets and maybe a thing comforter.I couldn't get used to getting "knotted up" with all the layers so made it my mission to find a quilt/duvet - not an easy task in the local stores here. I could find thin comforters with no problem, even quilts and duvets but they had fixed covers on them and as such, where quite expensive and I couldn't justify paying so much money for a duvet set to then have to pay more money for a separate cover to hide the original patterned set.Then I came here to Amazon, the home of anything you can think of and I found a few duvets here to chose from. I was still slightly sceptical because it was referring to it as a comforter so I thought it may be just a thin, lightweight thing, not sufficient to keep us warm..... I was wrong and pleasantly surprised!This is just like I used to get in the UK.... thick, fluffy and extremely warming to snuggle under.The benefit of buying a duvet like this is that you can buy your covers separately, at really cheap prices (around $20 - $30 for a cover and 2 pillow cases!) and then when it comes to wash your bedding each week, something which can take a lot of time and money if you have to take your big comforter and blankets to the laundromat, all you have to do is remove the cover from your duvet and wash / dry it in your standard machine at home - it's just like washing another sheet really!! The duvet itself doesn't need regular washing as it is always covered up so it's up to you how often you may want to freshen it up, but personally, I wouldn't do it more than once every few months, unless you're prone to sweating during your sleep then it would need to be washed more often.My US husband has adjusted to it with ease and although he was brought up to believe that layers are better to keep you warm, he also likes this product as much as I do. The soft goose down inside acts in the same way that layers do, holding pockets of warm air so that you can remain warm and cosy all night long!I would highly recommend this product to all my friends and family here as it does exactly what it is supposed to do at a very reasonable price.

I love this comforter. Had it for about 4 weeks now. Washed it 3 times and it has held up nicely! That is something I was worried about. There is a tiny bit of fraying on one of the edges, but I'm not sure if that is due to how the comforter was made or the fact that my washer is too small to handle the king sized comforter. Either way, it's soft, warm (surprisingly warm) and looks nice too. I was surprised at the quality for the price! We will be ordering 2 more for our son's room and guest room.

I have only had this comforter for less than a month but since we have hit the 30s at night I feel qualified to say this is a warm blanket that keeps the heat in nicely.The fabric feels great in your hands, like the softest cotton, but it doesn't slide around in the duvet cover like our previous duvet did.I would recommend this product. I didn't give it 4 or 5 stars bc although it is perfectly fine for what it is it's not lofty. It will be great for this winter but I don't feel it has the durability to last through next winter and beyond.

My fiance and I bought this comforter last month. We had been wanting a down comforter for a while and he is allergic to feathers, so we needed alternative down. This was a great purchase. Because it was so cheap, I was worried about "getting what I paid for," but wow, I lucked out. It is really thin, so keep that in mind if you are looking for something large and fluffy, but it is so warm. It is also incredibly soft. We don't have a duvet cover and I snuggle right in every night with no problems. I would highly recommend this comforter for anyone looking for something soft and warm.

What a great price for such a superb comforter. I love that the actual weight of the comforter isn't too heavy. For me, there's nothing worse then feeling claustrophobic while sleeping - so it keeps me nice and warm without being overly heavy, like many down comforters do. King size is perfect and fits my duvet cover well!

Wonderful comforter for the price. Not super fluffy, but I didn't really expect it to be. It keeps me very warm while sleeping and doesn't have a lot of weight to it.The product is good for the price I paid, but I think for my next comforter I would like something a little fluffier and thicker.

At first it seemed as though the comforter was not as advertised, BUT after thorough inspection and use I have the product to be well made and wonderfully functional. This comforter slides easily into the duvet cover without a lot of fuss, it was perfectly warm for the cold winter nights (and some days too) and even as the weather has warmed, it is still quite comfortable during the warmer Spring weather, this comforter has a great thermal ability and is breathable. I am extremely content with this product.

This duvet insert is soft and, though lightweight, still provides that "snuggle in" factor when I want it. It holds up well in the washing mashine - the batting does not shift or bunch.I live in Texas and use these year round. I like them so much, I have purchased three and placed them on all our beds.
